Question: If you morphed the faces of Simon Cowell's girlfriends, Sinitta, Jackie St Clair and Terri Seymour together what would you come up with? Answer: Mezhgan Hussainy.
One thing is for certain Mezhgan is Simon's type in the looks department. It would seem that blondes need not apply!
So why did these brunette women become so attractive to Simon? Well you don't need me to tell you that it's always a combination of x-factors that make us fall in love, but here's an interesting observation for you to ponder. If you look carefully beyond make-up, hairstyles, skin colour and look to the overall shape of a person's face, you'll often find each person exhibits a predilection for a particular 'look' in their choice of partner. Furthermore, although this may be strongly denied by many (and even sound vaguely disconcerting to a few) the overall proportions of the face of one's 'mate' usually mirror something about the Mother (in the case of males) or the Father (in the case of females).
Take a look at the picture of Mezhgan next to Simon's mum. That's Julie Cowell on the left as she looks now, and on the right as she was in the 1960's, a stunning brunette. On first look there's no apparent similarity at all to Mezhgan, but allow your eyes to drift to the proportions - the shape of the smile, lip thickness, neck length, the distance between lip and chin, general overall face shape etc and there's a definite match. The middle picture of Mezhgan and the picture on the right of Julie Cowell could be of the same woman. Apparently, it's all to do with how we were hardwired at a young age to pick out our primary caregivers in a crowd. We are attracted to what we recognise. You will often see the same phenomenon when older men swap their wives for younger models. For a good example of this take a look at the face shape and proportions of Jo Wood and Ekterina Ivanova.
I haven't got a picture of Ronnie Wood's Mum to check out this theory but I would wager she'll have many similarities to his wife and young lover(s).
So, Mezhgan ticks all the boxes in the face shape department but will Simon and Mezhgan settle and have babies, or is this another PR smokescreen - 'a convenient arrangement'? Could Simon just be offering a boost to a friend's career and profile - after all his life work has been to turn people from a nobody into a somebody. Or, perhaps Mezhgan is simply, in Rock Hudson
-esque terms, a willing 'female walker' who fits easily into his extended
Team Cowell family. For sure Simon and Mezhgan have some close relationship going on but, in the world of celebrity, nothing is ever as it seems and the public are often fed - and appear to hoover up - huge amounts of claptrap. Unless Max Clifford suddenly leaves the planet we can never hope to penetrate the spin machine that surrounds Mr Cowell's public life - Max does his job far too well!
Personally, I continue to remain suspicious about all these stories and even having read part of the interview he gave to Piers Morgan (which airs on or around 6th March) in which Simon appears to declare his love, I'm still cynical. Apparently he neither confirms or denies any engagement.
Simon's enigmatic, but to my mind he presents an oddly asexual, demeanour. He could well view Mezhgan as very special, but even if he walks her up the aisle, he can't be surprised, when his life is all so stage-managed, that there will be some of us who feel this could simply be yet another production. No one really cares what someone's sexual orientation is but until people, especially public figures, can stand up and be proud of who they are this world will never move towards one of greater authenticity, tolerance and love.

Simon is a Libran and so Mezhgan's sunsign, Aries, is his opposite sign. This brings an instant recognition of each others shadow side. Some people are repelled by people of their opposite sign, but the more integrated one's personality is, the more likely it is that one or both parties, of those with opposite birth signs, will experience an instant attraction. Simon and Mezhgan - and indeed all Sun sign Aries and Libra's - are here to learn the art of relating harmoniously to others and miraculously the right people always show up at the right time to facilitate that life purpose.
By her own admission Mezhgan's motto is

Mezhgan's Venus is, like her Sun, in the sign of Aries. This places it in Simon's Solar 7th astrological house, which is the area of the chart that denotes '
those we form committed partnerships with'. But, if we put the Sun on the first house cusp ( a common practice in astrology) it places her Sun and Venus in his 6th house. This translates as: Mezhgan 'beautifies'

(6th) or generally acting as an attractive adornment
(Venus) in his daily life. That's obviously a plus for someone who works with him each day and is rumoured to have moved in with him. Still, this doesn't help us know if this is true love or just a 'special friend'.
How Mezhgan attracts others.In the sign of Aries, Venus is very direct. Venus in Aries people are certainly not shy about coming forward and they have instant likes and dislikes. They can assertively, if not aggressively, go after what they want and often they will make it very plain when they are attracted to someone. Whereas, say, a Venus in Sagittarius female will try and attract her mate by humour, or perhaps an overt sway of the hips, Venus in Aries, will look a mate straight in the eyes and say 'I want you'! Even if she doesn't say it, Mezhgan could transmit it with a smouldering look. I say this as Mezhgan's Venus in Aries is opposite Pluto in Libra. This gives her incredible sexual power and allure. Basically she's hot with a capital H.
It should also be noted that Venus in Aries is often involved in love triangles, either they have someone else on the go or their partner does. Don't ask me why this is, it's not everyone so if you or a partner have Venus in Aries don't panic, but it's probably something to do with having to learn the lesson of being in partnership.
Why Simon? Maybe we need to see a picture of Mezhgan's father! Certainly her former husband and partner show some similarities to Simon, so he was already Mezhgan's 'type' visually, plus Simon has a Venus/Pluto conjunction, so this is another immediate and compelling 'sympathetic' link between them.
Whilst Venus/Pluto types are very intense, they can also be obsessive and once they are drawn into an attraction they rarely ever let it go. They can also be secretive in matters of sex and love but are often - maybe this is Simon's 'issue' - scared of the intensity they know they can feel if they let themselves really fall for someone. Love can literally consume them and cause them to lose control! The strong character embraces this, the more insecure one will avoid it like the plague and will often transmute the love nature into very strong, non sexual, 'safe' alliances or channel it into their career. They'll pass it off as being freedom loving but really they are avoiding their own intensity. Just because someone is secure and successful in the workplace doesn't mean they have the same confidence in the bedroom. Also, if one falls in love, that relationship requires time and attention which detracts from the power they can exert at work, so some prefer to avoid that compromise. As I pointed out in another article about Simon a number of years ago, he in particular doesn't like things to 'get messy'. Discord is to be avoided at all costs for many Librans.
More on Venus/PlutoMezhgan's Venus and Pluto aspect is an opposition. This is slightly more of a challenge than Simon's conjunction of the same two planets, as it means she may have the propensity to swing between extremes. Perhaps some jealousy or explosiveness is lurking here. Alternatively it could work out that she attracts this from others.
Simon's Venus/Pluto aspect gives him more of an ability to keep renewing himself and coming up with new schemes. Venus/Pluto people always end up transforming something
Venusian in their lives and Venusian includes women, beauticians, singers and finances!. This aspect is a typical
Bust to Boom aspect and that fits well with what we know about Simon's early bankruptcy.

(Pluto) who can increase her finances, again this alignment fits like a glove. For both of them, they would only be attracted to a lover
(Venus) who had depth
(Pluto) or the ability to really dig their way deep into their respective soul's. Relationships have to be life changing and passionate for those with Venus/Pluto aspects or they aren't worth the effort. In that respect, if these two were to set up some charitable organisation together, this would be very 'well starred.' With contacts between Mezhgan's Sun and Pluto and Simon's North Node there is a fated quality to this pairing which could have something to do with a greater mission. With Mezhgan's Sun, Venus and Chiron in Aries it could have to do with helping those with facial disfigurement or head injuries.
In the interests of a well rounded look at Venus and Pluto, aspects between these two planets are also known to be associated with relationships conducted in secret or with some buried secrets about the love or sex life, which may or may not come to light depending on the amount of control that one is able to exert. People who pay others to keep them quiet, silence them through litigation or who receive money for sex are often seen to have this aspect, but there is no suggestion that this applies to Mezhgan or Simon.
MarsMezhgan's Sun in her chart is in opposition to Pluto. As the Sun shows something about the men we are drawn to, she would always be attracted to someone who has the power to change her life. Her Mars is in Aquarius, this is associated with TV shows and humanitarian work. Venus is how we attract others but Mars is how we assert ourselves, so this Mars tells us that she is quirky and intelligent, freedom loving, innovative, spontaneous and unconventional in someway but Mercury square to Saturn suggests Mezhgan may have had to deal with shyness and sorrow at some point. There may also be difficulties from siblings and as Aquarius is a fixed sign, there can be stubborness or intransigence.
As a Sunsign Aries Mezhgan's natural mode of expression is fast forward but every now and again she may be forced by circumstance to retreat or stop in her tracks. I say this because Mars is the Sun sign ruler and is in aspect to Saturn. This planet is the traditional planet of age, wisdom and status and it shows us why she is drawn to older men, but it is also one of a stop/go, hot/cold quality to her drive and vitality and to her actions.
Mezhgan will most likely assert herself in a very friendly, communicative way, but underneath she may be quite controlled, aloof and unpredictable. She may have to watch what she says from now on which will make her feel very restricted. Saturn in Gemini tells us that she may even be quite lonely or occasionally depressed. Maybe she hasn't felt this since she left her home country of Afghanistan but if she marries Simon this could speak of her feeling isolated or having her freedom (and freedom of speech and right to reply) curtailed by the press (Gemini).
As it stands at the moment Mezhgan's ability to be glamorous, intelligent and alternately soft hearted and necessarily hard nosed (Saturn and Neptune aspects) augurs well for Simon's Libran needs. With his Mars sextile Uranus he doesn't want a predictable doormat or a vacuous beauty. He likes his friends to keep him on his toes and be independent and intriguing! So far, so perfect.
What makes this relationship potentially very different to others is the magnetism and sparky quality imbued by Mezhgan's Uranus being closely conjoined to Simon's Mars. As Mars rules his 7th house of commitment and her Pluto and Uranus are in his Solar 1st he could indeed suddenly marry Mezhgan, or there may be some other 'shocking' or highly unusual - even unexpected - facet to the course of this relationship. Something about Mezhgan will definitely excite Simon and vice versa, but something unforeseen could also leave him a little unsettled or disturb his longterm alliances in someway. She could energise him to act in an uncharacteristic way or to sever some alliances.
Babies can also change someone's life but is this going that way? Mezhgan's Chiron in his 7th means that it may even be she who calls the shots and breaks his heart wide open, surprising even him with the intensity of his feelings. When looking at the course this relationship may follow we can direct the chart of Mezhgan forward in time and look at the links it forms to Simon's. Mezhgan has come out of the shadows just as her progressed Sun has arrived at 13 Taurus. This position is Simon's 8th house cusp of joint financial agreements but it forms a difficult aspect to his Sun. It has been about 6 years since her Venus reached this same position - his 8th, the house of what he shares with others. We would therefore expect to discover that this attraction stretches at least that far back but it is now about to be formalized. It won't always be easy.
Mezhgan will definitely transform Simon's life and finances in some way, and now the lid has been lifted on this relationship it may be difficult to cap it off. Certainly Pluto affects their composite chart right through to 2014 so this isn't a flash in the pan that's going away soon. Pluto aspects come with a lot of soul searching. Whereas a Uranus aspect can revolutionise a couples life this Pluto one will tear things down so that they can be rebuilt. Just how this will play out is not certain. Saturn is coming to square their composite Sun in October 2010 so this will either be the time of some formal seal on their relationship or it will be the first sign of problems.
With Jupiter and Uranus meeting in Aries in June and Saturn heading to Simon's Sun and square to Mezhgan's Venus and Sun, it is perfect timing for them both to make some serious decisions and consolidate their relationship. I still have a feeling though that something unexpected could surface, or threaten to surface. Maybe the press will be too intrusive for Mezhgan's freedom loving Mars in Aquarius? Her Mars/Saturn could suggest cold feet or fear of what she's letting herself in for - especially with the media.
Mars, the ruling planet of Simon's 7th house of commitment and the ruler of Mezhgan's Sun, Venus and Chiron, just happens to be going direct on 10th March. This is shortly after the airing of the Piers Morgan's show,
Life Stories, in which he interviews Simon and asks him questions about Mezhgan and allegedly about his sexuality. From that date on, with Mars direct you can expect to regularly see Mezhgan and Simon pictured together and increasing speculation, gossip and rumour about their relationship and any marriage date as we head to her 37th birthday in late March.
Will they have children? They'll have pets but having children is in the lap of the Gods. Mezhgan may even have a little trouble conceiving. They may have kids and not marry such is the propensity for a non-conformist union. For sure, Mezhgan has some life changing aspects in 2011 and these coincide with Saturn crossing Simon's Sun. Saturn can either bring one sharply out of a reverie and into stark reality or it can bring added responsibility.
These are the dates +/- a week or so, that from the astrology charts I would expect significant news from this couple regarding the relationship (and any marriage and babies - if it does happen!):

Whatever is really going on with these two, they will attempt to control what we are allowed to know as much as possible but Uranus does promise a few suprises. Mezghan looks like a beautiful, dignified woman and Simon has transformed himself (Pluto) from Mr Nasty to Mr Charm Personified over the years, and seems to do a lot of good. I have always liked him a great deal, so I wish them every happiness. I also look forward to reading what other astrologers have to say about this pairing.
