Yesterday, at my young daughter's behest we entered a bookshop and we chose a book from the kids section. As we made to leave my daughter was diverted by another area of the shop. I kept her in sight and put down the heavy bags I was carrying.As I waited patiently I glanced idly to my side and my eyes alighted on a book within the shelves next to me. I pulled the book out and it was obviously mis-filed as the title was 'Apocalypse 2012 - An Optimist Investigates The End of Civilisation'. Lawrence E Joseph
I flicked the book open, at random, and the very first chapter I saw was about Solar Storms. Now this is something of a coincidence for, as those who read my post Solar Storms and The Solstice In 2012 may recall, I ended that post by querying a) what could happen to life on Earth if there was just a small change in the Earth's tilt and/or spin rate and b) what are the ramifications to the human being, and the eco-system, of a solar storm stronger than any ever experienced?
Now, as many of you may know by now, I don't believe there are any coincidences in life. You may also know that synchronicity is quite a common phenomenon in my world - and I believe is also common in that of many other people who are on a quest to find spiritual truths. Books, people, phonecalls etc., all mysteriously show up bearing pieces to the giant, multidimensional jigsaw puzzle that we call life. Each piece seems to link to the former and adds colour and context to the picture that is slowly being revealed.
It goes without saying then that I knew I had to buy this book.
Over the years I have noticed that sometimes the piece of information - or puzzle piece - one receives is small; obviously important in the overall scheme of things but not something that gives a Eureka moment. Such is the case with continual appearance of the number sequence 11.11 on watches, articles, e-mails etc., a 'coincidence' that has been plaguing me for the last few years. I have read a lot about it happening to other people too but I'm none the wiser as to what this is all about.
At other times the piece is huge and makes everything clear. This was certainly the case yesterday with this book.
Let me just add here that I started this blog in January 2006. I write about subjects that interest me. Some posts bear no obvious relation to astrology, but all deal in someway with the interconnectedness of us to our Universe. I'm not into doomsday prophecies and although I have a healthy respect for conspiracy theories, I'm no female David Icke.
On this blog I have written about the Gaia Hypothesis of James Lovelock, the concept of the Noosphere postulated by Teilhard de Chardin, Comets, Planetary resonance and harmonics, Gravitational fields, Coincidences, Comets, The Galactic Centre, Mayan prophecies etc. So, to open this aforementioned 'Apocalypse 2012' book and discover that all of these subjects had been pulled together under one cover was definitely one of those, 'Wow, this is big piece of the puzzle' moments.
These subjects have been amalgamated into the book by the author as they all pertain to the oft-repeated prophecy that the World is due to experience a cataclysmic event on 21st December 2012 at 11.11. This happens to be the December Solstice when the Sun reaches its furthest declination south from the celestial equator, and day length is shortest in the northern hemisphere.
The prophecy appears to have emanated from the Maya, but on closer examination the author finds that it shows up in many other belief systems and religions too (interestingly though, it is not apparent in any 'cult' movements).
My first thoughts are that I am meant to share this book and its contents with you.
SO WHAT DOES THIS BOOK SAY?
Let me begin by telling you that, as the English version title 'An Optimist Investigates The End of Civilisation' indicates, the author is more of an optimist than a pessimist - and Lawrence E Joseph
tries desperately to find the good and leaves the final conclusion about 2012 up to the reader. Reading between the lines though, it's quite obvious that due to the overwhelming weight of scientific evidence he uncovered in his 2+ years of research, he believes we better be ready.Ready for what? Well I do urge you to go out and beg, steal or borrow this book. The author, deserves to have people read his labour of love and it would be sad if people like me hijacked its contents. There is no intellectual copyright on subjects that are being openly discussed worldwide but, for the reason just mentioned, I will stick to one or two areas of his book, in my own words, and leave you to read all Lawrence has written and unearthed for yourself in his own words.
INCREASED SOLAR STORM ACTIVITY COINCIDES WITH SUN CONJUNCT GALACTIC CENTRE.
The title above is my words but there is mounting scientific evidence that since 2003 (which is the year that Uranus entered Pisces and the Sun first came within orb of the Galactic Centre) the Sun has been behaving in its most tumultuous way since records began and the Earth's magnetic field is dwindling. The shield that protects us is thinning. Temperatures are the highest they have been in climate change terms for 50,000 years. On January 20, 2005 (when Mars was closing in on the GC ) a proton storm, which are normally caused by Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) hit the Earth with a force and magnitude that astounded Scientists, but couldn't be attributed to these CME's. A storm in September 2005 was slightly less powerful than a huge series of storms around Halloween 2003, but was more notable as it came at the trough of the Solar Sunspot Cycle, rather than the peak.
The Solar cycle has an average periodicity of 11 years. As I mentioned in my previous article we have just begun a new Solar cycle - number 24 - that will 'coincidentally' peak in 2012. What concerns Scientists is that if the Sun is now 'misbehaving' and sending peaks where there should be troughs, how big will the next expected peak (called a Solar Maximum) be and what size radiation storms are we looking at? Large storms are not only potentially damaging to all satellites, power stations and electronic equipment, but also to humans. It's also becoming increasingly apparent that they coincide with upheaval in the eco-system.
Since 2003 we have had many reports of animals having problems with their internal navigation system (that rely on electromagnetic currents) but also we have witnessed some of the worst natural disasters. Ice caps are melting, temperatures soaring, hurricanes, tsunami's and volcanic activity seems to have stepped up. The tectonic plates (which cause earthquakes) also appear to be loosening as they are no longer weighted down by so much ice at the poles.
Some scientists, Lawrence E. Joseph tells us, do fear we are witnessing the stirrings of the Earth switching its magnetic poles and obviously, if this is true, in all probability it is likely to have a dramatic impact on Homo Sapiens.
THE ASTROLOGY
With Pluto about to move into the Earth sign of Capricorn for a 17 years stay beginning in 2008/9, and Saturn heading towards a two year stay in the earth sign of Virgo this September, astrologers are already gearing up for an increase in earth-activity such as an increase in quakes, asteroids and other phenomena. If we also add the fact that Pluto is aligning with the Galactic Centre, and the giant gas-body Jupiter joins it there this December, the astrology has more in common with the current observations of scientists than they could ever suppose.
Even the author f this book, Joseph, makes a direct link between planetary angularity and champions astrology rather than dismisses it. Best of all he, and some rebel scientists, recognise that the Sun/Earth relationship could be a two way street and that Sunspots may not necessarily be impacting Earth - it could be that Earth, and alignments of other planets in the Solar System, is impacting the Sun's behaviour! Hurrah for enlightened authors and Scientists who seem to be finally giving credence to the work of Dr Percy Seymour.
So, without causing alarm (for in my book, and that of many others, total global annihilation due to natural causes is not on the cards, although a literal shake-up of the Earth may be) what can we astrologers add to the knowledge of the astrophysicists? Well they are now saying as a result of data collection and Solar observation, (and we would shout we knew that ages ago), that upheavals are a distinct possibility as the Earth moves through an interstellar thunderstorm i.e., it aligns with the centre of the galaxy.
Dr Alexey Dmitriev, a geophysicist with The Russian Academy of Sciences is quoted in Apocalypse 2012 as saying;
"There are three important energy sources denied or completely downplayed by orthodox scientists. These are:
1) The dynamic, incremental conditions of the interplanetary mediums ( to those of of an esoteric persuasion that would be the ethers, or for the more modern metaphysicist, 'The Field' or Electric Universe - my words)
2) Energetic effects of the planetary configuration of the Solar System ( harmonics i.e planetary angularity or aspects - my words)
3) Impulses from the center of the galaxy"
The book makes it clear that almost everyone involved believes that we are going to witness planetary upheavals that will build up to a crescendo in 2012.
In view of this I would just like to point out that by some 'coincidence' the planet that astrology believes corresponds to Space, and to large scale occurrences and religious and spiritual awakening, Jupiter, make no less than four major conjunctions, between now and 2012. All of them in angularity to the Galactic Centre at 26/27 Sagittarius and three of them start new cycles of Jupiter for the first time in approx 13 years. Jupiter is also the planet highlighted planet in a Yod alignment at 11.11 on 21 Dec 2012.
THE ASTROLOGICAL ALIGNMENTS AND NEW CYCLES ARE:-
Jupiter Conjunct Pluto Dec 11, 2007 at 28 Sag conjunct GC
Jupiter close Earth July 9-11 2008
Jupiter Conjunct Neptune May 27th (and Jul 10 and Dec 21) 2009 at 26 Aquarius (60 degree angularity to GC)
Jupiter Conjunct Uranus Jun 8, 2010 at O Aries which astrologers call the World Point as it has historically coincided with events which affect the Globe and is described as "a spectacular out rush of energies" Jupiter, due to retrograde motion, rejoins Uranus again to begin it's cycle on Jan 4, 2011 in square or 90 degree to the GC- an angle of tension - at 27 Pisces.
Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto will all be in harmonic alignment forming a Yod on 21 Dec, 2012. Yod is the Hebrew word for hand and it is also used to denote the silver pointing device used in Judaism for reading sacred texts. Jupiter is the planet upon which all the strain is placed as it stands at 150 degree angles to the other two planets. Saturn and Pluto will be in mutual reception as are Mercury and Jupiter (and Mars and Saturn). Neptune also resides in the sign ruled by Jupiter.
The Moon, Jupiter and Uranus will all be on the opposite side of the celestial equator to the other planets.
From the Sun's viewpoint (heliocentric view) the Earth, Venus, Saturn and Mercury and Neptune will all be in exact alignment forming a grand trine which is the much revered 3 pointed triangle. I notice this as being extra significant because is you add 21/12/12 or (12/21/12) depending on your country it adds to 3/3/3. The number 3 has much esoteric significance and the total of 9 symbolises completeness.
Heliocentrically the 3 planets Venus, Mercury and Saturn are conjoined too (with Mars and Saturn still in mutual reception). There is certainly every indication here of increased gravitational forces at play. We have seen worse, with little apparent effect, but never at a Solstice when the GC is involved, Pluto the planet of transformation in the earth sign of Capricorn (90 degrees or square, to the World point at 0 Aries) and Mercury and Mars in exact parallel alignment.
Additionally. there is a central total eclipse lasting 4 mins across the Pacific Ocean in the sign of Scorpio on 13 November 2012. Mercury exactly opposes Saturn when viewed heliocentrically and a rare transit of Venus, the planet central to the time keeping system of the Maya, takes place on June 5/6 2012.
IN CONCLUSION.
Knowing about the importance of planetary harmonics from the work of John Addey and Dr Percy Seymour, I believe there are particular circumstances on Dec 21, 2012, and for a few years leading up to it, (remember too that the Galactic Centre is not a small spot so we are already closely aligned to it) that could increase planetary stresses.
The Geodetic Moon and the Celestial Sun lines on the ACG maps both fall through Germany and down through Italy and Sicily into Africa. In the coming years it may be prudent to keep our eyes on these locations and for the reason behind that I'll refer you to Chapter 7 on 'Africa Cracking' in Joseph's Apocalypse 2012 book.
