My eyes alighted upon the most fabulous Pluto in Capricorn story today - submarines for the wealthy. Not content with their private jets and yachts, the world's elite are now literally taking one-upmanship to new levels. Whilst some like Branson are aiming for the Moon, businessmen/women (undoubtedly some hedge fund managers amongst them) are aiming for 20,00o leagues under the sea!Microsoft founder Paul Allen started this latest trend, commissioning his very own, 6 million pound, 40ft yellow submarine that sleeps eight and is launched from the back of his mega-yacht called Octopus.
As with the other polarity, Space, there are some obvious advantages to becoming a submariner; nice views and a guaranteed escape from the hoi polloi - you can spend millions on your mega-yacht but you still can't control the chavs from invading your peace in Monaco, Porto Cervo or wherever you set off to! This way at least you are guaranteed quiet and exclusivity - and it's certainly one place the paparazzi won't get their picture!
As the CEO of the company that builds the subs, Bruce Jones comments; "These are people who value their privacy". Indeed, but I can't help but have a vision of the competitive Russian olgliarch, Abramovich, waving at Allen from a porthole with a 'fancy seeing you here' look on his face as he shows off his superior vessel!

Now to the astrology. Pluto is the planet of anything that likes to stay hidden ( incidentally it rules Russia). It is currently in the sign of Capricorn - business(men). Capricorn is ruled by Saturn which is currently opposing Uranus (innovative ideas and cutting edge technology) in Pisces (sea). Additionally the company which makes these subs, US Submarines, has named its 'off the peg' submarine, The Phoenix 1000. Phoenix is, of course, the mythological creature associated with Scorpio ( watery depths) which is ruled by - you guessed it - Pluto.
Paul Allen is an Aquarian ( Saturn & Uranus ruled) he has a Saturn ( ruler of Capricorn - business) Neptune ( ruler of Pisces - sea) conjunction in Libra which is ruled by Venus. Venus is in conjunction with Mars in the 'sea sign' of Pisces. What else would he love and find joy and delight in than the waves. Whether these are ocean waves or the waves that invisibly connect us all via the Internet this man senses a trend way ahead of the rest of us.
