I was half way through a post I have been meaning to do for some while about India, Chicago and some other things but the chatter into my inbox about this upcoming Mutable Cross is now too great to ignore, so here's my two penneth worth.Mutable crosses occurs when 4 or more planets occupy the 4 mutable signs and form a cross by 2 oppositions (180 degrees), which means squares, 90 degree angles, also occur. Mutability signifies restlessness , vacillation, fluidity, an inability to stay still and all states of flux and changeability.
So why are we all hopping up and down about this? Well because Full Moons are notoriously volatile at the best of times, so too are Sun/Mars conjunctions and Saturn/Uranus oppositions are rebellious and revolutionary. Mars/Uranus squares however are downright worrying. It has a reputation as the accident aspect, or at very least one of sudden and shocking surprises. It's also linked to power (energy) crises and events involving the Internet and telecoms. Airlines in particular tend to suffer around these aspects.
In my, as yet, incomplete post I am also writing about terrorism at sea which would be Saturn in Virgo (service industry) opposite Uranus in Pisces (event at or involving sea or liquids or gas). The Virgo component is undoubtedly why a hotel was targeted in Mumbai and tensions will once again be at breaking point in India.
When Sun and Mars occupy Sagittarius the news is usually about antagonistic (Mars) foreign relations or Jupiterian places, people or events. Jupiter includes religious fanatics, foreign travel and legalities with distant countries. This cross however is making my fellow astrologers in the USA particularly concerned as the Full Moon falls with the Mars of the 1776 USA chart. This usually gives a warmongering effect.
All the factors mentioned above come into alignment triggering Mars AND this is just as Mercury moves to the exact degree of Pluto which recently moved into Capricorn. Additionally Neptune (gas, oil, collapse, virus) is also at 21 degrees and, although not in a mutable sign, due to the law of harmonics we have Sun, Moon, Mars, Saturn and Neptune triggered at 21 degrees with Uranus just 3 degrees away.
This sounds to me like extreme destabilisation, even collapse particularly in and around the period of at least 8 days around 9th thru 17th December 2008 and the breakdown of some system that moves either people or information around. As Gemini is the sign ruled by the winged messenger Mercury though, I'd be looking to mercurial related events and as mentioned airlines, computers plus markets, trade and the car industry fall into this category. Mass transit is also coming to mind. Gemini is the sign of bridges, tracks and anything twin or dual. It's also connected to children and the Virgo /Gemini involvement points to the 2 test match cricket series.
As the Full Moon directly impacts the USA Mars we have to see what that Mars represents and what aspects it makes in the natal chart and where it has progressed to as well.
USA Mars is square USA Neptune
Progressed Mars is opposite Pr Venus and pr Chiron on the mundane level this points to the problems with finances.
Directed Mars is in Aquarius ruled by Uranus which is about to change signs in the next few months for the first time since summer/autumn 1979. This date coincides with Chrysler asking for 1 billion from the US Government to avoid bankruptcy and the start of Iran hostage crisis but if you are interested to know more then researching what else was happening in the US then could be enlightening as to what is coming up again for change.
In order to research this properly we also have to look at where the USA Mars becomes angular, which is nigh on impossible without an accurate birthtime and we just don't have one for the USA (infact we have several but none can be verified beyond doubt). What we can do is look and see where Mars becomes angular on the day of the Full Moon and to do this we use ACG maps.
The answer is India and East Coast USA down through Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Colombia.
South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zaire, Congo ( this is where there is currently a cholera outbreak)
China, Vietnam and Indonesia and Hawaii.
Middle America,( Texas and up to N.D and all states in between). Mexico City, West Coast Australia, Sri Lanka up through Delhi also have geodetic markers
We also need to look at what happened when the Sun was at 21 Gemini, which was on 12 June 2008

and we should look at when the Sun and Moon last came together at 21 Sag as that was the start of this cycle. I can't find this information - does anyone have it on when we last had a New Moon at 21.02 Sag?? Dec 14th 2001 is close at 22 degrees. On this date The Parliament of India is attacked, killing 14. This brought India and Pakistan to the brink of war.
I can find eclipses and the date for 21 Sag is December 13th, 1974 ( closest) with Dec 14 1955 following a close 2nd. On the second date the Tappan Zee Bridge in New York opened and Bulgaria joined the UN.
I have just read that US job losses are the worst since 1974, so in this respect the inclusion of Neptune in this Full Moon line up is further evidence of the collapse/destabilisation of the US economy.
Finally countries who have birthcharts (proclamations, constitutions, independence etc) with planets at 21 mutables are:

So where a name is repeated in this list and the text above that means there is a dual stress or likelihood of that country being affected by this lunation. Let's wait and see what the Full Moon period brings.
Update 6 Dec I just noticed that I didn't mention the exact date of the Full Moon. It is in the chart above but for those who need it it is 12th Dec at 16.37 GMT. Also I notice that Singapore and Hong Kong get strong hits from the ACG lines. This may refer to the Stock Market volatility there. Bangkok is close to the lines but not exact. I believe they continue to have trouble at the airport - which, along with airlines, correlates to the Uranus aspects.
