The Consequence of 8 years of Irresponsibility

Okay I'm on the move so this is going to be quick but don't panic, the bailout has not been approved - as any astrologer with even a basic grasp of astrology would have known - but it will be, it just needs to be revised again. The real issue here is that this is the start of a huge change and the ending of the reign of the fat cats and people who abuse their position of power.

Mars is currently conjunct the Neptune of the NYSE chart of 17 May 1792  (meltdown and uncertainty) and New Moon conjunct the Uranus Pluto Midpoint of the 18 Feb 1971 chart. People are talking of this being the crash but the markets have to drop by twice as much as they currently have ( 5%) for it officially to be a crash. Give this a few days until Mars enters Scorpio though and stability will (temporarily) be restored and the face of banking will continue to be transformed. Be warned though this is not a bubble - the worst is sadly not yet over and 2009/10 will be brutal.

MARRIOTT HOTELS & ASTROLOGY

Here is the latest, and sadly very morose, example of transits at work on the multiple planes of existence. First though let's be 100% clear, the movement of the planets never causes anything, or even compels anyone to perform deeds, but it most certainly informs Astrologers (who are essentially trackers of cycles) about the nature of the energies we will attract, and participate with, at certain junctures in our lives. These junctures are known as cycles and they apply to anything - animate or inanimate - because life flows through everything at the quantum level.

Marriott Hotels was 'born' according to Bill Marriott on Jan 18 1957 *(19th according to Wiki) in a Sun/Pluto cycle - Sun in quincunx to Pluto. This morning I received some news from a person who was also born on the 19 Jan 1957. It transpires that over the weekend, when Sun came to the square Pluto in its perpetual cycle, this person, a good friend, was knocked for six by news that his mother has cancer as simultaneously (within a short timespan) the Marriott hotel in Islamabad was hit by a different type of bombshell.

If we take the chart for 18th Jan '57 (or the 19th) and direct the planets forward to now, Pluto, the planet energy that corresponds with exactly these two scenarios is now at 22 degrees of Libra. Transiting Mercury is currently stalled (which intensifies its energy) at 22 Libra in the sky and is conjoined to Mars at 22 Libra, so we have a Mercury/Mars/Pluto alignment for many of those born in 1957. ME/MA/PL = Sudden news or delivery (ME/MA) of life changing event or bomb (PL).  

The energy is stepped up for the 18/19 January 1957  births as it puts Capricorn at the very last degree of the sign ( difficult for many reasons in any sign - read here) but also because transiting Pluto is about to enter the Solar sign of those born in Capricorn and is currently 30 degrees away from their actual Sun. Add to this a whole host of other linkages and one begins to see the patterns of the invisible clock hand in the heavens at work.

Now, millions of people were born on those particular days in 1957. Each of them continually creating their lives as a result of their previous decisions/actions in this life (and maybe in previous ones) but if we could line them all up I can almost guarantee that every one of them would report that they are having some manifestation of these energies occurring in their life at this precise time. It could be something on the physical, emotional or spiritual plane*; of major or minor outward significance or importance, but it is these phases or waves of energy that are what we call evolution. Each one moving the population forward in someway, in cyclical if not linear time, with varying levels of intensity.

Above and beyond this we can look into the pictures we see of this atrocity in Pakistan and see yet more symbolism. A HUGE hole (Pluto) in the ground (Capricorn) in front of a hotel which is a place where we go to sleep and becomes our temporary home (Moon) So there's a Moon/Pluto theme here, just as there is with a Mother (Moon) who has cancer ( an invisible killer= Pluto). If we look back to the directed chart we find the directed Moon of my friend, and maybe of Marriott hotels, is in the sign of Libra ( I say maybe because it depends on exact time of Marriott's opening) conjoined to directed Pluto. 

The ruler of Moon in Libra is Venus and directed Venus is just about to, or has recently, changed signs - a big change to all Venus ruled things. In the chart of any Capricorn Venus denotes the Mother or the job, their standing or status. This is because Libra/Venus rules the 10th solar house. For them Venus is moving from Aquarius into Pisces, the sign we associate with hospitals and incarceration or retreat of any kind. Marriott's popularity as a hotel chain will undoubtedly be hit by falling figures worldwide. My friend will have more dealings with hospitals.

In fact for Marriott, the changing sign of directed Venus and transiting Venus tells us that their name (10th house cusp ruler Venus) will now be synonymous with this bomb attack (tr Venus to Scorpio co ruled by Pluto) and obviously for my friend, he feels his Mother has been attacked* by the disease. Other Capricorns  born at this time may be having economic difficulties etc.

For anyone with the time, and access to detailed newspaper archives, it would be an exercise in cycles to look back and determine if anything else occurred on these dates in 1957. We know that on the 20th January 1957, Eisenhower ( there's that name Ike again) and Nixon were sworn into The White House so Mercury is stationing on the directed Pluto of that Republican duo's term. I don't know enough about Eisenhower's term in office to see what may be being re visited (Mercury Rx) now, but with debates looming maybe something is about to show up.

Also although the entire leisure industry will be affected by the current economic downturn, I notice that Hyatt Hotels opened in 1957 ( later in the year, Sep 27th). So,  as Mercury and Mars are stationing on their directed Pluto we can expect news from them too . Obviously security will be tightened at all hotels where westerners stay in trouble spots around the world but unfortunately, stationing Mercury does single this hotel group out for a difficult time ahead.

CREDIT, CIRCULATION, COINS & COLLUSION

Please watch this film. I understand that 45 minutes of your time out of a busy day is asking a lot, however, there's nothing short of a revolution (SA/UR) getting underway in the outside world and if you want to be able to navigate through it you need information as to why it's happening. Not information that comes from politician's or bankers with an agenda, but from people who really understand the nuts and bolts of the economy.

Pluto, the planet of total annihilation is about to move into the sign of banking, Government and big business, Capricorn. What we, and Wall Street, are witnessing now is the first big push of Pluto in aspect to Neptune - the collapse of power. Many of us astrologers have been warning of this present crisis for years (see Christeen Skinner's book The Financial Universe on my website).

Governments can try the sticking plaster approach but astrologers know it's not going to hold. Sadly, Pluto doesn't 'do' fixing things it only does complete transformation. However, rather than descending into depression, panic or bloody revolutions, it's imperative to see current world events as part of a natural and much needed cycle of death and rebirth/renewal. It's a shake-up and clear out of all the apples that are rotting at the bottom of the barrel.

The coming year will be asking us to focus, not on the economy, but on the use and abuse of power. The economic credit crunch is the symptom, not the cause. This focus includes finding our own power to speak up and ask questions of our leaders and hold them responsible for any wrongdoing. It also includes finding our own point of power; recognising that it doesn't lie in the accumulation of material goods but on getting in synch and on purpose (sign up for my next newsletter for more).

In terms of taking personal responsibility for how informed we are, do you understand why it is imperative that the UK Government don't allow HBOS to go under? Do you have any idea why it is so important that they move to alleviate the fears of people with money in The Halifax and prevent 'a run on the Bank' like that which happened with Northern Rock? How much do you know about The Central Bank, The Federal Reserve or the dollar bills in your pocket and what they are worth, or what fuels house prices and their collapse. Then please watch this film. I found it utterly compelling, informative and eye opening and I think you will too. According to this film there are very few people who have any idea where money comes from and most of us believe that if all the National debt were to be paid off that, as citizens of that nation, we'd be better off. Not so!

MENAGE A TROIS

For most of late August and September we have had three planets in the sign of relationship, Libra. These planets; Mercury, Venus and Mars have been doing a little dance - jostling for position. We can translate the symbolism in a variety of ways. Here's just a few suggestions, one of which may possibly apply to you, or at least be entering your radar at this time:

THE LOVE TRIANGLE.
Mars in conjunction with Venus often points to the dance of the male and female i.e. sexual attraction. If we add Mercury into the mix, the three planets in combination can speak of a strong attraction to another person, when you, or they, are already committed elsewhere. This may involve a Gemini or Virgo (Mercury ruled) or someone who is represented by the symbolism of Mercury (youthful, fast footed, a writer, a neighbour etc). It brings to mind the ' there are 3 people in this marriage' syndrome. It's a classic combination for a scenario involving a wild flirtation, thoughts of an affair, an actual affair and the accompanying deceit, or participation in a literal 'menage a trois'.

GOSSIP, JEALOUSY AND JUDGING
Whenever someone has a piece of gossip or sharp words to say about someone else, Mercury and Mars will be involved. Those with strong Virgo and Gemini placements are intellectually sharp and they love exchanging and disseminating snippets of information. Nothing escapes their attention and they mentally critique everything and everybody. Acting positively they make great reporters, journalists, critics and mimics, picking up every nuance of a situation. Acting negatively they have a tendency to gossip (not always maliciously) or, at least, they are great storytellers.

At the moment Mercury is joined to Mars and Venus in the sign of Libra. Libra is often said to be the sign of balance and fairness therefore people are surprised to hear that it is also one of the most judgemental signs. I have often pointed out that some of our most infamous judges (of the talent show variety) are Librans. Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Danni Minogue for starters. Libra (esp Sun, Mercury and/or Mars in Libra) is expert at weighing people up and judging others. They are not necessarily diplomatic about it!

At the moment there can be an above average propensity for people to be drawn into rivalry and take sides over a third person. It can show up as a group exhibiting the 'two's company but three's a crowd mentality' where they start trying to edge an interloper out through well-timed, but maybe cutting and judgemental remarks. Libra is also, through its connections to Venus, the sign of beauty, adornment and money. The jealousy may be over superficial matters, like what someone else has or the way they look. With a global credit crunch taking hold, some are feeling under threat and insecure. It is at these times that people often unintentionally or intentionally, backstab others in order to remain 'on top of the pile' even while being gracious to their rivals face.

We can see this at work in the 'Lipstick on a pig' controversy that has embroiled Barack Obama. It may be that he spoke too quickly, without thinking (Mercury, Mars) and has had to use all his diplomacy (Libra) to sidestep the gaff which other people see as nasty. Other possibilities, of course, is that it was a deliberate, cutting remark (lipstick = Libra/Venus) designed to wound Governor Palin. Only Obama will know if he temporarily reverted to childish behaviour - a very Leo trait or if, and this is the third possibility, he's the target of a gossip/smear campaign from his rivals (Libra = open enemies) who feel very threatened by his strong sense of Self.

INDECISION & TAKEOVERS
The other way this threesome Mercury, Mars and Venus in Libra can show up is in indecision. Having not just two options on the table, but three. Someone (or a company or entity) has to intervene to bring about a decision. In the mundane world trouble in Georgia requires the intervention of a third party. In the banking/financial world negotiations for takeovers requiring a 3rd way or 3rd party to enter.

So what happens next? Well Mercury is slowing down (contemplating, stalling, changing mind) Venus is about to lose strength by leaving it's own sign of Libra and going into the sign of Mars-Scorpio. So Mars, whilst having been strongly allied to Venus, and also caught up with Mercury, is now going to come out on top and after 4th October whatever or whomever Mars represents in the trio will be the one to watch- the most powerful.

So if you are a Scorpio (Joe Biden) or an Aries or can equate yourself to Mars (male dominated) energy( Obama?) someone or something is about to put a tiger in your tank and you'll either be able to disengage from whatever has been consuming you or come out fighting. Expect secrets to come to light too.

Virgo's, (McCain) Gemini's and Mercurial characters (especially those who have been conniving), may have to beat a retreat and rethink. Libran's, Taureans and women in general are about to lose some power (23rd September) and may start to get underhand. They may 'take up' with Mars, or have to defer to Mars, as they'll be moving into 'his' sign. As Venus moving into Scorpio equates to obsessions, compulsions, and intensity either the gloves will come off at that point and everyone will be able to see exactly where they stand and what they are up against, or some revelation, conciliation and/or deliberate action will resolve a stalemate or situation that just could not go on, as is, any longer.

UPDATE ON HURRICANE IKE

Here's the Full Moon (15 Sep) ACG geodetic (mundane) map. As you can see Hurricane Ike has made landfall exactly on the Sun Line. The biggest conglomeration of lines goes through the inlet next to PortO'Connor, Victoria, Matagorda Bay to the West, so we can expect storm related news to emerge from there in the next few days leading up to the Full Moon.

What is interesting is that the 16th August lunar eclipse ACG map also shows lines through this coastal section, highlighting that some major event was a possibility for this state in the following month. The Lunar eclipse of 16th Aug was conjoined to Neptune (water, sea and oil) so with hindsight we can see that map ( scroll down to previous posts) pinpoints the type of event likely to manifest and the Full Moon map (above) further pinpoints precise coordinates that will be affected at the lunation.

The next big test for these maps is to see if Ike misses Houston. According to this, it should miss and veer to the East of the city (although Houston will still be hit be the surrounding storm) at the time of writing all we can do is watch, wait and see how valid these maps are as weather advance prediction tools, rather than after the event.

Houston was incorporated 5 June 1837. The most devastating hurricane in history to hit Houston was 9 September 1900. The predominant aspect then was a Saturn/Neptune opposition. At present we have an applying Saturn/Uranus opposition and the lunation is conjoined to Uranus, suggesting electrical storms and sudden, unexpected water surges (pisces) and breaches in locations previously thought safe.

THE ASTROLOGY OF THE 25th AMENDMENT

The 25th Amendment to the United States Constitution came into effect on 23rd Feb 1967 in a room in the East Wing of the White House. It is this amendment that allows for the Vice President to assume temporary or permanent control due to the disability of the President. It is also used to replace a Vice President. You can read about the precise circumstances under which this can be invoked, and when it has been used here or here.

I thought it would be interesting, in view of the controversy raging over the possibility of Sarah Palin assuming control of the country, to look at the charts. I must stress, however, that these charts will apply whoever assumes office. It remains an unfortunate possibility that Barack Obama may be the target of assassination attempts if he were elected and John McCain may suffer through ill health. It is for these reasons that the choice of V.P on both sides in this election takes on added significance, and the 25th Amendment is of interest.

Sarah Palin was recently seen talking about 'God's Plan' and I guess we can't totally rule out either that, in this context, 'the plan of God/the Universe/Higher Power' may be that one of the current candidates for election does not even make it to the ballot box, yet alone into office.

So let's look at the 25th amendment astrological chart.........

CHART

Most 'coincidentally' what we find is that the planets Saturn and Uranus, which will be forming an exact 180 opposition on Election day 2008, were also in opposition back in 1967. In fact as these two planets have a 45 year cycle, 1967 was the last time they were in opposition. Furthermore if we progress the 25th amendment chart to this '08 period, the Mercury Pluto opposition is now direct at the exact degree of the Saturn/Uranus opposition on Nov 4th, 18 Virgo/Pisces.

What does this mean? Well first of all it indicates that this amendment has come full circle and therefore the possibility must exist that it will be changed in someway during the extent of the current opposition, which lasts into 2009, AND/OR it means that the chart is 'hot' and this amendment is going to become a key point for the election. It may possibly even mean the election result will hang or fall on the VP picks, or something that occurs around one of them, between now and the election.

We also have to look at when the amendment has actually been invoked in history and see if it bears any relation to current celestial cycles. The amendment has apparently only been used 6 times since it's ratification* in '67. One of those is debatable (Reagan) and the other four surround resignation and assassination. I'll look at the most recent - the invocation of section 3:voluntary withdrawal due to disability. This occurred when President Bush underwent a colonoscopy and officially handed over the reins to Dick Cheney on 29 June 2002 for around 2+ hours.

AMENDMENT INVOKED CHART

My searches show that the operation began at 7.09 am EDT but other articles say that President Bush invoked the presidential disability clause of the Constitution at 7:16 a.m. EDT. Therefore, I'm taking the liberty of assuming the operation was scheduled to be around 7am (maybe someone knows an exact time that is not taken from media reports) and the 7.16 time is, maybe, when he lost full awareness, and thus when the 25th Amendment came into effect.

The chart of 7am overlaid on the chart of the Sun on First USA ( 4 July 1776) certainly shows tr Mars in square to USA Chiron, which is closely related to surgery. Tr Saturn conjunct Mars

(America holds it's breath and forward motion is temporarily suspended. Also leader, SA, and surgeon, MA) The invocation ascendant of 22 Cancer is sextiling the USA Neptune (anaesthesia and dissolution of a 'contract' plus uncertainty about the outcome and length of transfer).

At the time of his operation the Moon had just entered the 12th house sign of Pisces and if we put this invocation chart next to the amendment chart - and remember invoking this is an unusual occurrence - we find Saturn in square aspect to Uranus, planet of 'the unusual' and temporary. This isn't a perfect set of significators for the temporary handover as both these planets are slow moving but it is good for a SA/UR issue coming to the fore again at that time.

The Asc was 22 Cancer +/- for Bush's operation ( invocation) and it was conjunct Jupiter and aligning with the NE/PL midpoint (Neptune = dissolution, Pluto = power). Mars ( leader) was also aspecting Jupiter Rx in the 25th amendment 'birth' chart. Jupiter is chart ruler along with Uranus and could be read as 'power reversals' or 'rescinding power'.

All the astrology of it can get very boring for the readers who simply want to know if it's going to be invoked again, so I apologise but also urge other astrologers to study these charts and those of current candidates in further detail. This will involve a study of Dick Cheney's chart to see how his two hours of supreme power show up. A cursory glance shows 'Invocation chart' Mars was opposing his Venus and the Asc and Jupiter exactly trining Uranus (quick, and the unusual circumstances). Neptune (uncertainty) was conjoined to his Sun. The Mercury/Pluto opposition captured Cheney's natal Mars but the angles and Moon will pinpoint it to these hours.

Like Cheney, Governor Palin's Neptune is also now conjoined to her Sun but Joe Biden's chart also show's some strong synastry to the 25th Amendment chart as does Obama's with his natal Mars exactly conjoined ot the 25th Amendment Uranus and his Moon square the Sun of the chart. Whether this just means the Democrats will push the issue of the 25th Amendment in the forthcoming days and weeks I don't know. It could mean that The Democrats keep pressing the issue of whether America wants to put Governor Palin 'a heartbeat away' from the Presidency, it could mean much more.

Obama and 25th Chart

To reiterate, what astrologers are seeing in many of the charts we are looking at in order to determine who might clinch this race, is this repeated Saturn/Uranus signature. It's in the Amendment chart and in the chart synastry of the time Bush invoked section 3. It is exact on Election Day. The degree of the opposition 18 mutables is mirrored in the pr Amendment chart and 18 Virgo/Pisces is an oft seen axis in many charts pertaining to this election. It also correlates to the Mars of the Soviet State of Georgia.

In this article the author reminds us that SA/UR cycles correlate to....

..human and civil rights protests and riots, economic crises and labour unrest, turning points in western economic and military hegemony, developments in genetics, biotechnology, mechanisation, space technology, nuclear power and nuclear weapons, and attempts at disarmament.

I also noted that at about 9pm on Election day Saturn shifts over to 19 Virgo. Googling 19 Degrees of Virgo I came across this fabulous article which not only deserves to be widely read but also will provide weeks of fodder for astrologers to play with. It is a very comprehensive look at the 18/19 Virgo/Pisces degree axis in the charts of people, nations, events in history etc.

Before anti Palin readers get too hot under the collar about this issue, I believe she is now facing a period where her rising star will naturally fall during the next 14 days. If she can survive beyond the coming Full Moon, and then the reversal of Mercury, and the change of sign of Venus to Scorpio by the 23rd Sep, that may be the time to really look at the 25th Amendment chart, and consider the consequences of it being used (by either side), in closer detail.

* It seems as though the state of Georgia never ratified the amendment which is interesting in view of the recent fighting in its namesake, Georgia the country. Symbolic of something to come?

** It should be noted the Amendment chart is a 12 noon chart but a) it may well have been ratified at 12.00 and b) 12 noon charts are symbolic of events involving leaders and c) even if it wasn't ratified at 12 noon.

COLLISIONS - LHC - ELECTIONS - ECONOMY

Okay, here it comes..... as widely predicted by the astrological community we can expect an upturn in the economy as Jupiter and Pluto forge forward and Jupiter trines Saturn - as they do this week. We also shouldn't forget that there is an election taking place and, call this cynical if you must, but gas and oil prices are falling, the dollar suddenly buys you more abroad and the mortgage problems are being dealt with by the US Government who just shored up Fannie and Freddie!

The large gas planet Jupiter literally buoys us up during a depression (Saturn) and benevolence and support (Jupiter) is offered by those in positions of power ( Saturn). Long term however (November onwards) we are definitely not out of the woods, so don't go staking your life savings on this being a turning point. We also need to see what shocks accompany the Full Moon of the 15th (a 12th-16th window) before we start partying.

Astrology is not great at pinpointing specifics - it's good at trends and observations of cyclical patterns. I noted recently that Joe Biden stood up at the DNC to accept his nomination as Vice-President on exactly the same date that he married his first wife (27th Aug). Sarah Palin was announced as the Republican nominee on the same day as she had got married (29th Aug) - big events in our life often happen on similar dates +/- 1. It also follows then that every time September 11th comes around Americans, in particular, stand an increased chance of some surprising and dramatic event occurring ( not necessarily terrorism related).

Aspects to many of the election candidates charts look 'hot' this week, especially Governor Palin's around the 12th. Is there something shocking about to occur? We'll see. Mercury was just entering Libra when she was announced, Libra is ruled by Venus. Mercury backtracks next week and Venus changes signs on the 23rd. The symbolism suggests ( but doesn't set in stone) that either doubters opinions are going to change about her and the selection, or something brings a reversal and review about the initial decision.

Jupiter and Pluto's forward move speaks of things* coming to light and the unleashing of some incredible power. This is mirrored by the scheduled acceleration of protons around the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland on September 10th- this is the unleashing of a power so great that some people believe it could cause a quasar to form inside the earth, which will only become apparent to us in 4 years time. I have to say that's a bit worrying when 4 years brings us to the dreaded 2012 date! Some scientists are so worried about the potential for destruction from this experiment that they are still trying to get it stopped. Thankfully most say it won't affect us at all. It's great fodder for the 'doomsday is upon us' sector of the population but I feel more concerned ( in view of the date cycle issue) that this is happening so close to the date of September 11th. It cannot go unremarked that this experiment is all about bashing particles together from opposite direction and we currently have 2 planets in opposition. (Oppositions are like collisions across space.)**

We may see some really mighty 'collision' between the Republican and Democrat supporters and their opposing ideologies now. It may be highlighting the candidates opposition when they start the election debates or it may be mirroring some collision between two countries. It may also signify Hurricane Ike's collision with the land. So far all the hurricanes have come in on the ACG lines of the lunar eclipse map ( see previous posts).

More positively both Obama and McCain will be together at Ground Zero on the 11th and the particles are also heading together. This is symbolic because a collision also implies unity; dualism back to one-ness.

One last thing - Google just launched their new browser called Chrome. Saturn is currently in Virgo. According to some astrological texts, the 6th house, Mercury ( communication) and Virgo hold sway over the metal Chrome. As above, so below - always.

STORMS - Nature or Not?

Tropical storm Hanna is now trekking towards the States and 'coincidentally' Asteroid Hanna is at 11 Capricorn. That places the asteroid at the same celestial co-ordinate (but not the same declination) as Jupiter, currently at 12 Capricorn. Jupiter is forming a square (90 degree) aspect to Mars at 12 Libra tomorrow and over the weekend. Jupiter squaring off with Mars always turns up the storm potential - in the air and in people. Jupiter square Mars is a classic aspect for a clash of religious, political and moral ideologies! It's the aspect of the crusader or preacher but also of international warfare, large scale events and huge media attention. 

I've moved the geodetic eclipse map (that we were watching for Gustav's path) over to the East as I feel it is still valid and you can clearly see the eclipse, Sun/Moon,  lines through the already devastated Haiti. Click to enlarge. Any of these lines, horizontal or vertical, out to the East could mark potential landfall sites. Remember Gustav came in right on the red Pluto line (close to Mars) in Cocodrie. This area and Texas may yet be caught up again by Hanna or Ike. For now I would keep an eye on the blue Jupiter lines straddling Florida. 

Update: Hanna made landfall over the Mars/Jupiter crossing ( yellow) hitting the coast along the NC/SC border.

Having said that we do have a Full Moon on the 15th which falls in conjunction with Uranus and square to Pluto. ACG lines for that pass through NC , VA and MD. Sometimes Full Moon maps are valid before the lunation but Ike is also out there looking nasty. The asteroid Ike will form a Grand Cross from mid Gemini to these Full Moon positions, so unless Hanna hangs around Ike really could be the 'mother of all storms'. Ike, for those who haven't heard, is currently a category 4 Hurricane forming out at sea. 

Last week I had the good fortune to be able to call into the Self Realization Fellowship in Encinitas, California. Whilst at this beautiful spot ( and I highly recommend you pay a visit to the meditation garden overlooking the ocean if you are ever in the area) I picked up a free booklet. As 'coincidence'  would again have it, my eyes alighted on the following words:

Ike was 'found' on  2 Feb 1989 and looks more menacing with its Saturn/Uranus conjunction mirroring the opposition phase we are now in. It also has a Mars/Pluto opposition.

SATURN/URANUS & POLARIZATION

The manifestations of the August eclipse conjoined to Neptune are now all too apparent and the Saturn/Uranus (SA/UR) opposition is becoming more obvious with each passing day. First let's look at the Neptunian eclipse. Remember Neptune is the planet associated with (amongst many others) the following key-words: gas, oil, depression, collapse, dreams, spirituality, drugs, flooding, uncertainty, water, clouds, lies, untruths, dissolution, smears, scandal, charity(ies), charisma, confusion, fear and free floating anxiety. The spread of water and airborne disease is also a Neptunian subject.

Looking back over the past few weeks we have had several events across the planet, mirroring this celestial line-up:

1) Swimmer, Michael Phelps, eclipsed the record of Mark Spitz by winning 8 Olympic Gold Medals.

2) Hurricane Gustav eclipsed many others being described, originally, as 'The storm of the century'. This proved to be unfounded but oil production was suspended in the Gulf and uncertainty reigned about how badly this would hit. This hurricane came on the heels of Hurricane Fay, which confused people in Florida with it's uncertain triple backtracking path and flooded large swathes of Florida. Meanwhile in India, records have also been eclipsed as the worst flooding for 50 years has left hundreds of thousands displaced in the northern Bihar region.

Interestingly in terms of the SA/UR opposition, which I'll get to later, in the following eclipse ACG map we can see that the same Pluto, Mars and Uranus lines which we noted through Louisiana and Texas (see previous posts) swing to the opposite side of the globe to the location of the flood region in India and Nepal. All the major charities and aid agencies are doing their best to help those without food and clean water, but they desperately need more donations.




3) In Denver the attendance figures at the DNC eclipsed all others in history as over 80,000 people watched Barack Obama's acceptance speech at Invesco Field and one paper reported more people tuned in on TV than watched the recent Olympic Opening Ceremony. Many see Obama as a highly spiritual leader - one who is paving the way for 'A new earth', which is interesting in light of eclipse lunar/earth/sun symbolism ( and in light of Pluto into Capricorn an earth sign)

4)Traditionally lunar events are also closely associated with women, as the Moon is feminine in nature, and we now know that Hillary Clinton's hopes of a Presidential role in the White House have been eclipsed (as was next-day news on Barack's speech) by the announcement of Sarah Palin being on the Republican ticket - but basically the eclipse speaks of the rise of feminist issues and talk of woman's rights etc. Hillary had already eclipsed all other woman before her with the support she received for her campaign.

5) We are witnessing the dissolution of many jobs, governments, companies, airlines etc as the credit crunch and high oil and gas prices sweep the globe. The OECD announced today that the UK will officially be in depression for the latter half of 2008.

6) Fears surrounded a plot by Al qaeda during the eclipse window to poison water supplies. This threat still exists. In the UK there was a recent case of a poisoned water supply due to non terrorist activities.

7) Attempts to locate missing 3 year old Caylee Anthony have been hindered by the lies and general confused stories of the mother Casey Anthony. (I think this one will prove to be drugs related).

8) Overall fear, anxiety and depression levels in the population about the state of the unrest across the planet are reaching an all time high. In Mexico a spate of kidnappings and decapitations (with the bodies being dumped in tourist areas) has been linked to an escalating drug war


Now the good news.....

Once Jupiter and Pluto surge forward, in early September, a lot of the energies that have been pent up for most of this year will give way and out of the turmoil, darkness, fear, negativity and uncertainty we will start to see a new optimism. Oil prices are already falling and the dollar has strengthened against the pound quite dramatically. In the UK measures have been announced to help home buyers.

Before things can really start to progress though, we first have to negotiate the very tricky Saturn/Uranus opposition, so don't expect overnight euphoria. There is a chink of light at the end of the tunnel for 2009 though.

Basically Pluto's move into Capricorn is tearing everything down so the new can arise from the ashes. The symbolism of being in a particularly severe hurricane season is that the world is caught up in a maelstrom of change but after the decimation of the 'old' rebuilding can take place.

At the moment though the Saturn/Uranus opposition suggests that we all have to look out for getting caught up in situations that can be termed: polarizing, pro versus anti, divisive, either/or and on/off. The spiritually aware person is the one who can maintain balance in the face of difficult and testing times and situations. I know I am constantly striving to find and maintain a centered attitude but over the last few days I was easily pulled to an extreme with my opinions over Sarah Palin and Democrats versus Republicans. The trick here is not for me, or you, to beat ourselves up if we find our 'self' swinging to any extreme over the next few weeks and months. It's not necessarily a personal failing but a response to the energies of the times.

If one becomes aware of any imbalance and aims to become more centered then all will be well. It is self reflection and awareness that is the key. The people to fear are those who do not have this capacity for self awareness and are currently polarized in an antagonistic way over election issues - and indeed any issue. These polarizations are ultimately contributing to global instability - the whole being the sum of all of its parts.

We can see extremism in the pro and anti abortion activists. The black/white race issue is being played down by the media to a large extent, but is definitely rumbling under the surface, and all the extremist views could flare around the US election. We can already see the Saturn/Uranus energies at work in the battle between pro and anti government activists over in Thailand where a state of emergency has just been declared in Bangkok.

The very best way to help a new wave of optimism take hold in the world is to try not to take sides over any issue and to retain the bigger picture of global unity, stability and balance in mind. Oppositions speak of being self-reflective.

Overall, each one of us can probably contribute to change for the better by being more mindful of what is within us, and not by reacting to what is happening or pulling at us from the outside.

The National Hurricane Center is reporting that Gustav's landfall was at Cocodrie, LA (29N14 90W39) which is exactly where the Pluto line is on the map shown in my previous post and above, therefore it would be remiss of me not to point out that the Mars /Uranus line and Uranus line - both of which point to unexpected events, sudden surges and even tornadoes, lie within the projected high risk areas of 94/95 W

With Jupiter and Pluto virtually stationary at the moment this hurricane could hang around, pick up speed, or another come on its tail, up to next week. An expert on TV suggests that although it has slowed to a Category 2 this means the area of rainfall, and therefore flooding, is likely to be wider.

Also note the yellow cross line. People living under this latitude of 31- 33 N in the map should also be aware of the danger of weather events.

Update on Palin
OHMIGOD, Palin's unmarried,17 yr old, daughter is five months pregnant!! That's the first thing I said to someone yesterday when I saw a family picture - " She looks pregnant" but I dismissed it as being 100% improbable from a political standpoint. McCain's party are saying they knew all along which makes it even worse. For mercy's sake what type of moral universe are we living in? She's managed to kid McCain's scouts, herself, and America, that her Down's baby doesn't need her love and attention, but how can she, HOW CAN SHE as a mother kid herself and accept this role. Her teenage daughter is not only sending a huge signal, 'Mom notice me' but she is going to have to face this alone because 'Mom' will now be too busy to show up for her too. Again I don't buy the spin that she was always going to marry her boyfriend.

This is a soap opera and a tragic indictment of society today.

While I'm still on this subject, I'm including a video of Palin's first big speech (with the very uncomfortable and embalmed looking John McCain by her side). Some other blogger pointed out that he seemed to spend the whole speech looking at his Veep's breasts!

Here it is . Regarding my first post on her - No Show Sarah - watch 17.28 minutes. The man with the coat hanger still in his jacket (McCain) is left looking like a lackey when she finishes.



If the McCain camp did know about Bristol's pregnancy, that's one thing, but if they didn't and they are madly backpeddling to pretend they knew, would you trust them to be in power? If they knew already then why was Bristol holding the baby over her bump during the speech and looking heavenwards - when were they going to break the news?

One also has to ask what would the backlash be from them if this boot was on the foot of a Democrat? It looks like a case of one rule for themselves and another for others.

Edited and update 4 Sep: Palin's RNC speech was a confident and sassy performance. Aquarian's are all blessed with the theatrical talent and stage presence of their opposite sign of Leo, so Obama (Leo) has competition on that score. However, Palin was named as candidate just as Mercury entered the sign of Libra. Mercury slows down and turns to retrograde motion from 20th Sep, turning on the 24th. This period could well see more revelations and a change of heart over Governor Palin. Whether that change of heart is that the public and press start warming to her, or if it heralds her removal, remains to be seen. If she starts to eclipse McCain and becomes too much of a loose 'pitbull' there'll surely be even more calls by the Republicans to go back to another already vetted candidate.
