HEADS UP! - Fascinating, maybe important news

One of the great things about the Internet revolution is the ability to connect with people who you might never meet but with whom you establish a strong rapport based on mutual interests. My cyber associations since 1996 - blogs, website, Twitter and Facebook accounts etc - have brought me into contact with lovers of metaphysics from all over the world and we often provide each other with links, snippets of great of information and generally help each other out. Two such cyber friends Karen and Tracy deserve an extra special mention today.

Karen alerted her circle of friends to the fact that later this year ALL the planets will be in a Southern declination. I mentioned it to Tracy (owner of the brilliant, useful site SERENNU) who is an astrologer and programmer and quick as a flash she has put out a page for us all showing the exact dates when the planets are in North and South declination.

Thank you Tracy! This is a tremendous resource for the whole astrological community as many of our ephemerides don't list declinations at all or, if you use Raphael's Ephemeris, it only lists the declinations for every couple of days.

Declination is an astronomical measurement (so if you are firmly in the Science camp of the Science vs Astrology debate then it's not a measurement you can contest) of the position of the planets North or South of the Celestial Equator; the Celestial Equator being a projection of Earth's equator into space. There has to be potential importance of this if all the Sun, Moon and ALL the planets, including some planetoids and asteroids for certain periods of this window) will be SOUTH. Symbolically it is a major discovery but we will have to let the astrophysicists tell us if this imbalance has any geophysical implications.

Tracy has colour coded the North and South Declinations so we can easily see when they switch. If you want to see another year then simply change the 2010 at the end of the URL to the year you want to see!

The next question this knowledge provoked though was, When did this last happen? So back to Tracy who speedily bashed out another programme which detected this and reported back:

This last happened 8 - 10 Feb 1996.
A few occurrences 1993 to 1996.
Prior to that 1839-44.
1814-19.
1805-09
1494-97 so quite erratic.
There will be no more occurrences up to 2099

I for one will be looking back now at what was occurring in the World on those dates. I hope all of those of you who are interested in forecasting using cycles and symbolism will see if you come up with anything that may reflect the imbalance of the heavenly bodies in the hemispheres, and perhaps let me know.

The big dates to watch this year will be:

Jupiter's transition across the Celestial Equator on 1 Aug
Saturn's transition across the Celestial Equator on 7/8 September

Why? Because these shifts (some of them, not all) of the outer planets across the Celestial Equator are believed to coincide with big changes in the collective and earth events. One instance that I had in my files was that in late January 1700, 25,000 people were killed in an Earthquake just as Neptune transited the C. Equator. I'll now look back at all major events and check the declinations. I know financial astrologers believe declinations strongly correlate to changes in the Stockmarket.

To recap then, the big Southerly shift begins in earnest in the height of Summer and by October all will be South for 13 days 6- 19th October (watch 12th October particularly)

This phenomenon will happen again on the dates below - the only reason why there is a break at all is because the Moon swings rhythmically north and South of the Equator every month. So essentially, except for the Moon, which dips up and down, note in your diary all will be South

In December (as Karen pointed out) Mercury and Mars will also be Out of Bounds. When planets travel outside of the maximum declination the axial tilt (23.5 degrees) they are said to be Out of Bounds (OOB) and this seems to correlate to an over excitability of the populace, or events where we are symbolically stretched or are out of our comfort zone.

Now one decade ago (5 Feb 2000) there was a big fuss made by astrologers over the fact that all the planets lined up together that even prompted NASA put out a statement to say it was no big deal
but in that case some planets were North and South. In particular the mighty Jupiter and Saturn were in North declination while all the rest were South, so even though they made a nice pattern they didn't actually all share a hemisphere of Space - and none were at 0 degrees.

South declination puts an emphasis on the Southern hemisphere on Earth and also (symbolically and maybe even actually) highlights the topic of magnetism. This is due to polarity. One side of the equator is considered positive and one negative. South is negative.

My gut feeling is that this is another indicator of what all our normal day-to-day astrological charts are telling us - that this year is due to be one of considerable Geophysical Earth events, shifts and imbalance.

Again, all we can do is wait and see.

Putting Astrology to the Test - Flights begin again.....

Okay, so this is in no way, shape or form going to hold up to scientific scrutiny but the unprecedented grounding of all flights throughout all of the UK and most of Europe, is an opportunity for me, personally, to put the form of astrology I use to the test. I have no idea whether my conclusions will hold up but I'm willing to give it a try.

The question is When will flights resume?

First of all I should tell you that when the stoppage began on the 14th April, I had a to and fro chat with some Facebook pals in which I posited that as Mercury was slowing to a virtual standstill ( from our perspective on Earth) and was halted on 12 degrees for a week, that it was highly unlikely things would get back 'up to speed' until Mercury picked up speed and moved from this degree. At the time the stoppage was only meant to last a few hours. Now into our 4th full day of no flights, this assessment seems to have proved correct.

Mercury starts to pick up speed from tomorrow (19th) and moves from 12 degrees late on the 21st. PURELY FROM THE SYMBOLISM, I would say that by the 21st the backlog will be starting to be cleared and the wind may change direction or pick up speed before that so some first flights could depart from somewhere as soon as late Monday/early Tuesday morning UK time. The marked change should be seen on Wednesday 21st.

However, moving from symbolism to alignments due to the Saturn/Uranus opposition not perfecting until the 26th and the movement of Mars across Iceland as seen in these Geodetic ACG maps ( See my previous posts on Geodetic maps and note that the first map at top shows 14th April, the second below shows the 26th April when Mars has cleared Iceland) the volcano will probably only lose some of its anger (Mars) and slow down its eruptions after 26th April. There is a critical day of the 24th when it may give another display) Therefore I do not think the entire volcanic episode will have ended until the three planets Saturn/Uranus and Neptune move from sharing the 28th degree of the signs Virgo, Pisces and Aquarius on 1 May. This is because whilst they remain at 28 degrees they are all harmonically aligned, so we effectively have a SA/UR/NE aspect Saturn (delays) Uranus (unpredictability/flights) Neptune (clouds/ uncertainty).
So to sum up: Some flights maybe resuming by early Tuesday, Clearing backlog begins by 21st. Possibility of further eruption around 24th - 26th. Whole episode not over till 1 May. Uranus to Aries on 27/28 May coudo bring a further surprise.

Now in all major events there is never just one alignment but a confluence of events. So I also needed to look at what was going on, symbolically and harmonically with all plamets when this crisis started. For this I would point to 3 specific, time related astrological events:

1) A New Moon occured on 14 April and coincided with an exact Uranus (Flight)/Neptune (Clouds and chaos) harmonic aspect (30 degrees). The Uranus/Neptune cycle is a whopping 171 years in length thus we tend to see marked global events at each of its exact aspects. At the infamous Laki eruption of 1783 the two planets were in almost exact 90 degree angle (now they are 30 degree) so the giant has probably awakened!
2) The Jupiter/Uranus cycle is closing in. This cycle is associated with flight 'issues' and unexpected occurrences ( see the end of my last post written just prior to this event).
3) On the 14th, as mentioned Mercury was slowing to station but also Mercury (the planet of winged flight and travel through air) had recently become the dispositor of Saturn, which just moved back into Virgo. Saturn (delay) is opposed to Uranus (Flight) which is being conjoined by Jupiter(International).

Is this over or will it last all summer?

I prefer to use the chart for the first commercial flight by jet engine to track this current problem with the volcanic ash - and other issues -as almost all travel is by jet engines these days and it may even be that the Ash cloud would not have affected propellor driven aircraft in the same way. The chart I use is: 2 May 1952, 15.12 LMT Hayes. London. As I say there are other charts. This one though just happens to have its Sun at 12 Taurus - the degree that Mercury stationed on, Its Ascendant/Desc Axis at 28 Virgo/Pisces therefore aligning precisely with the SA/UR opposition, disrupting air travel.

My observation would be that this immediate crisis with this volcano with the unpronounceable name will be over by the end of the week BUT that with a Full Moon on 28th April forming difficult aspects to both Uranus and Pluto in the 1783 chart of the Laki Volcano eruption PLUS Mercury returning to the 12 degree mark just as Uranus moves into Aries, that further cloud problems are possibly to be expected in May (especially around 28th) but maybe from a different volcano (or two together) as we move towards planets in Gemini.

I'm glad to see that the authorities have put people before profits for once. I just hope that they can keep this stance up and not bow to any pressure, if this does persist - or abate and reoccur.

Thoughts on The Nature of Astrology

This article is generated as a result of the recent controversy around astrology noted here

What can cause artificial earthquakes and artificial lightning storms? What can knock an entire power plant off line or threaten the steel frame of a sky scraper under construction to collapse? The answer is Resonance. Nikola Tesla knew a thing or two about it!

Resonance is a fascinating subject. Knowledge of it can be used to:
a) manipulate
b) harness or
c) understand
the nature of energy and the vibratory frequencies inherent in nature/matter.

An example of manipulation of resonance would be to use it as a weapon like stun grenades or acoustic canons. By harnessing resonance we can use it in things like Power plates or MRI scans for health benefits. Resonance is of particular interest to me though because in astrology we - or maybe I better just speak for myself and say I - seek to understand how resonant frequencies can affect human behaviour and psychological health.

I believe that planetary resonance can have an effect on the energy centers of an individual because ultimately everything in the Universe stems from one source - Light/God, call it what you will - differentiated out into a multiplicity of forms. At the quantum level everything is vibrating and we are affected by our resonance between the things/people/conditions we encounter and vice versa.

HARMONICS
Resonance occurs between one point and another at very specific mathematical divisions of the circle. These divisions we call harmonics (in astrology we more commonly use the term, angular relationship). We base everything on the circle because that is quite literally the shape of nature. Look around you at all the curvature. Planets are round, the Sun is round, cells are round, your head is round, your eyes are round (even your body is contained in one unbroken sheath of skin with all its orifices being basically round!) the seasons come a 'round'. In fact the entire universe will undoubtedly prove to be curved.

All circles and spheres can be divided into two and when we divide oneness into 'twoness' (unity into duality) and introduce the straight line we enter into the realm known as Geometry . From the curve and the straight line all other shapes can be formed. It is my opinion that astrological correspondence will one day find its explanation in wave harmonics of the circle - the circles of the Universe. We know that light travels in waves and all waves have a duality -a peak and a corresponding trough. Indeed some have postulated that all space-time manifests from the geometric harmonics of these wave motions of light.

THE LIGHT AND THE DIFFUSED BEAM - ONE SOURCE
I believe we are Light/Divinity diffused from a single point, unfolding in perpetual phases of expansion and contraction, light and dark. It's my view that our body possesses a natural attunement - a frequency - that is peculiar to our Soul. Our Soul being an invisible emanation from Source/Light which is constantly seeking to curve back on itself and return to Source. I believe (again I can only give my personal viewpoint so I apologise for all the I's) our vibratory frequency is 'fixed' (for the observer of it) in this incarnation at the moment of our birth. We are born into a personal and collective array of frequencies which can be 'measured' from noting the geometric positions of the planets around us at the time and place of our birth. This is NOT the same as the planets themselves causing anything per se but is part and parcel of a unified field theory.

The birthchart could be said to be your personal blueprint of these frequencies. Thus, while life force animates the body you inhabit in this incarnation you will resonate well, or discordantly, with anything in the entire Universe that has a frequency which harmonically 'excites' your natural birth vibration - positively or negatively. This is what gives you your life lessons and shows you where you need to 'raise' your vibration to return to pure energy.

CYCLICAL TIME
The planets and their angular relationships can therefore be seen as akin to a clockface telling us what time it is in our unfoldment.But, rather than our normal clockface showing us a 12 hour am/pm cycle, when we look at the circle of planets in the birthchart we can see larger cycles of timing. The birthchart dispenses with linear time and instead shows us time is ultimately circular and like many shapes, it is also multi dimensional.

This topic can give you severe brain ache but, if you give what I have written a little contemplation, you will hopefully come to the realisation that if everything is responding to your vibration, it must follow that you either have a great deal of influence on the way your life 'shapes up' or you have none and your entire life is fated. I prefer to posit the former. If you can use your freewill to alter what you put out in terms of your vibration (vibes) then what you get back will also alter.

This gives a deeper meaning to the phrase Keep on doing what you do and you'll keep on getting what you get. It puts you in a position of empowerment when you realise you can choose to change what you keep doing and therefore change your life and maybe even your life force.

In astrology we (I) believe these change points come around and are noted (not caused by) planetary alignments. If we see you are due to harmonically align with the 29 years Saturn cycle for example, we know certain other things which vibrationally align to the concept of 'Saturn' will arise in your life. Knowledge and awareness is all. If you are a blue eyed and 5 feet 5inches you are never going to become brown eyed and 6ft but you have choices as to how you deal with what you have been given.

CAN ASTROLOGY PREDICT?
Also let me just state that Astrology is never going to tell you that next week, or in 2 years or 20 years, you are going to get married or divorced, have a baby or whatever. Anyone who tells you they can use it in this way is lying (or using psychic ability) as astrology cannot do this. What it can help you know is that - as an example - next week the moment of your birth that we equate with you i.e. your birth planet positions ( a moment in space/time), will be harmonically aligning with a cycle of Space/time that is often a beneficial juncture to focus on your one-to one relationships, or a good time to put structures in place that will support you for the next 7 years etc etc. It may show a time of expansion and increase that has been often shown to coincide with pregnancy but, statistically, being able to forecast this would probably equate to only a 50/50 chance, no more.

We can't tell the detail but as Astrology is one of the oldest studies of 'Life', over the eons astrologers have built up a wealth if information as to what 'things' each harmonic time period (angular relationship) often correspond to. Thus an harmonic alignment between the cycles of Jupiter and Uranus (as we have at the moment in spring/summer 2010) historically corresponds to significant, sudden global events, scientific breakthroughs, space travel or news about Space, including airlines and flight 'issues', and it also correlates to big leaps forward in technology. The Labour Government (UK) came into power on a Jupiter/Uranus cycle in 1997 but now the cycle is renewing and challenged by Saturn (Conservative). The cycle is also associated with large scale changes in legal/judicial and religious systems. It has some correlations to the Monarchy.

MORE ON JUPITER/URANUS CYCLES
It also has been found that people who were born with any alignment of Jupiter and Uranus will resonate to this phase of the cycle more than those who don't have the aspect in their birthchart. On the personal level the essence of Jupiter and Uranus can be summed up as an expansion of awareness leading to the urge for breaking free of restrictive conditions (that's just one interpretation). We also have to take other cycles into consideration though and this one aligns with Saturn and Pluto, so the picture becomes further complicated to 'read' with any real accuracy. Astrology has HUGE limitations, not least that any interpretation is influenced by the interpreter and their own level of awareness and vibration. Usually though the astrological consultant and his/her client are attracted through resonance in the first place, so there is a match and a learning 'curve' for both parties!

MIDPOINTS 2010
That's my thoughts on the nature of astrology then. I'm including this final section for astrologers only (as to fully explain the correspondences of all of these pairings will turn this post into a ridiculous length) but please note that wherever two planets have arrived at in their 360 degree cycle, the midpoint between them is going to be the place of highest resonance. So if we look at the current positions of the outer planets, those who have any birth planets in a harmonic alignment to these degrees will feel the energies manifesting strongly in their lives in the next 3 months, particularly if you have a planet on the direct midpoint;

Saturn/Pluto 16/17 Scorpio (Taurus,Aquarius, Leo)
Saturn/Neptune 13/14 Sag (Gemini, Pisces, Virgo)
Jupiter/Uranus 29 Pisces/0 Aries ( Capricorn/Libra, Cancer)
Jupiter/Saturn 26/28 Sag (Gemini, Pisces, Virgo)
Pluto /Chiron 01/02 Aquarius (Taurus, Scorpio, Leo)
Uranus/Pluto 16/17 Aquarius (Taurus, Scorpio, Leo)
Uranus/Neptune13/14 Pisces (Sagittarius. Gemini, Virgo

So if you have Sun or Moon at 16 or 17 Scorpio read it as a Saturn/Pluto = Moon . If you have your Sun or Moon or Venus ( or any planet) at 16/17 Aquarius then UR/PL= that planet.... and so on

YOGALOSOPHY

What is important in life is NOT the messenger, it's the message. Mandy Ingber's soul is obviously in the right place and her message is sound. Be prepared to be surprised by this definition....Astrology is, at source, the same as Yoga but without the physical exercise: Astrology is not just about Sun signs or who you are compatible with, astrology is a realisation of one's indivisibility from everything in the manifest and unmanifest universe.

Astrology is, like yoga - when used correctly - a tool towards reunification . Using knowledge of cycles, geometry and natural law one gains awareness of their connectivity to what lies within and outside of them. This heightened awareness gives the student of astrology and yoga the potential to become a radiating, manifesting force-field of energy, which in turn fosters the ability to co-create your life and find harmony and contentment.

Whether you choose to exercise your mind, your body or both together the fundamental route to changing one's life is by understanding the polarity inherent in the universe - and therefore in your being. Astrology teaches this through an understanding of the dualities associated with the Sun and Moon, the planets and everything in nature.

In the final analysis, these are the polarities - the opposites - one seeks to reconcile and centre within ones SELF - both astrology and yoga help in this task:

Keeping silent and talking
Receptivity and resistance to influence
Obeying and ruling
Humility and self confidence
Lightning-like speed and circumspection
To accept everything and to be able to differentiate
Ability to fight and keep peace
Caution and courage
To possess nothing and to command everything
To have no ties and to have loyalty
Contempt for death and regard for life
Indifference and love

By seeking balance and equilibrium in all areas of your life and by focusing positively, and with intention, on your desires you can master the ability to gain harmony. From this place - and only from this place - you become empowered and gain the ability to attract towards you whatever you place your attention on. Undoubtedly, Mandy, who has been a top lifecoach/yoga teacher in America for many years is resonating to the current Jupiter/Uranus/Saturn aspect. The cycle of this trio of planets corresponds to greater publicity for the mysteries of the Universe - The BBC 'Wonders of the Solar System' series being an example. Science and Spirituality currently still lie as polarities. One day they will be re-united.

Just as you didn't have to do anything after the seed was implanted in your Mother to bring yourself into being, we live in a Universe that has an organising principle behind it. Your life is unfolding whether you participate or not. If you choose to become aware of this underlying energy , you can more readily align with it. A good analogy is that you can learn to steer and captain your boat down the river of life as opposed to being tossed about by chaotic currents!

This organising force inherent in the Universe is obviously now seeking to bring humanity to a greater awareness about the nature of life and the Cosmos.
