Forget Polls, Use Astrology - and much more

Update: Since writing this post a number of things have already come to pass which are 'of the nature' of the aspects mentioned. Just after posting a British MP was stabbed in the East End of London. Stabbings fall under Aries but this reinforces the fact that we can expect the unexpected and things of a JU/UR Aries nature from Eastern England and East of London. Facebook was suddenly in the news over major privacy and security issues that had lots of people closing their accounts. The Red Shirt issue in Thailand came to a head and is still simmering. Red Bull Racing team have been much in the news as has the Confederate flag in S.C. A number of Earthquakes happened and Volcanic eruptions right on the Full Moon.
Where I have sadly been very wrong is over the capping of the Gulf oil spill. An attempt was made at the Full Moon - but, as we all know it failed. Also, as yet, thankfully Iceland remains quiet. Unfortunately though there have been many news items that the eruption of Katla is close The stockmarket volatility also continues. Looking back over previous cycles we also have to watch for issues to do with babies and fires and the 'sudden ignition' of unrest. The football club Roma also shows up, so changes/surprises there. As a result of the recent election in the UK, and indeed the Presidential Election in the USA in 2008, many people must surely have a found new respect for the subject of astrology. A good number of my fellow astrologers called the 'Hung' Parliament and the coalition election result - much further in advance than the expensive polls that the media and official bodies conduct in these circumstances. Almost all had said that it was madness to call the election in a Mercury retrograde period.

In many cases, you don't need to be an astrologer to see how closely the cycles intertwine. Here are just two charts you may find interesting, even if they usually all seem like gobbledygook to you, these should be clear. Click them to enlarge and read clearly.

This first one shows the Conservative party formation of 1867 and the precise time that David Cameron became Conservative Coalition Leader of the new 'ConDemNation' (!) in 2010. A press release from the Palace was released, after we had seen Mr Cameron leave the Palace. This was timed at 20.35BST but should not be taken as the precise time of his being asked by the Queen to form a Government. The time was 20.26 +/- seconds.

This next chart shows when Brown was inside the Palace being asked to 'form a Government' in 2007 as a result of Tony Blair relinquishing his seat and it is next to the moment Gordon Brown resigned his position as PM in the Queen's presence in 2010.

Now onto a smorgasbord of tit-bits for you, ending with another chart to peruse of the New York Stock Exchange:

We are already witnessing the effects of the move of Uranus into Aries on May 28th GMT and its imminent -0- aspect (conjunction) to Jupiter (8th June). The full charts of both these events can tell us a lot about how the aspects will play out for the UK and abroad. We are also approaching a pivotal Jupiter/Saturn -180- (opposition). Put all these together and we get a Jupiter/Uranus -180- (opposition) to Saturn, which is -90- (square) to Pluto.

The picture these aspects form is distinctly angular, this means they don't really harmonise and the effects are stop/go, push/pull, forward/backwards and bring us to a definitive turning point - a point of no return - with all the resulting tensions that feeling torn and uncertain can bring. The addition of Pluto almost angular to Saturn/Uranus and Jupiter ensures one thing though, huge SHIFTs - seismic and otherwise. Historic events are happening/looming and the Earth will be mirroring these shifts and discomfort as we transition.

Here are some more of my considerations for the future based on these aspects:

I am as sure as it is possible to be that Uranus into Aries at the end of this month is going to usher in some form of major cyber attack (latest by November 2011) or the release of a virus comparable to WinNuke As Jupiter meets Uranus in Aries (and the first section of the zodiac, Aries, corresponds to the Face) I would suspect Facebook may be the entry point for the rapid spread of some attack. If your livelihood depends on your computer be warned now and be doubly cautious about suspect attachments and other known forms of virus transmission.

There is a possibility that the source will not be some spotty computer nerd in his bedroom but a professional organisation who stand to profit from the problem or use the attack as some form of weapon against a government. Cyber security will be one of THE profitable industries to be in.

Facebook may also get a facelift, or face to face viewing of our friends, or some other change (perhaps surprising or revolutionary) could happen - like a mass exodus from it, or its alliance to something else.

As JU/UR correlates to sky and space, power cuts or systems failures may even be the result of unusual phenomena from 'up above'. Solar radiation tsunami's.

Companies organisations, places and things with the word Red, or evoking that word, such as: Fever, Hot, Cut, Fire, Sword - e.g Red Knight Consortium (currently involved in negotiations to buy Manchester United) Red Bull(s), Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Red Wings airline, Red Square, Red Magazine, Red shirts, Heat magazine, Hotmail, Firefox etc may be in the news as will things like: 'Hot' Stocks, Cutbacks, Sudden layoffs (firings). Airlines in the red. Planes on fire - you have to play around with the symbolism. Where there is a negative there is always a plus so we will also see large new opportunities in some sectors corresponding to Aries.

Astrology could also come to the forefront at this time and with a new, added respect. The words 'new start' also corresponds to Aries.

The -180- aspects are almost -90- to Pluto so this gives us a Saturn/Pluto square. New boundaries, border controls and shifts in the structure of the Earth are also almost assured. Terrorism, especially in Europe and the UK (around the City and Canary Wharf) is a real threat as Terrorist organisations often like to 'test the mettle' of a new Government or administration soon after they enter power. JU/UR Aries ( sporting prowess) denotes the Olympic buildings, which are to the East of London (Aries) could be a target and construction companies should also take care that all safety measures are taken to guard against accidents, electrical problems or other failures there.

Those people who find their lives responding to the JU/UR aspect i.e those who have it natally, will be prominent in global news. I would for example (a lightweight example) expect Jennifer Aniston to have a baby or new start as she responds to the JU/UR cycle and Aries correlates to embryos and births.

The opposite sign is always invoked in any aspect so Libra comes into play too. So think JU/UR Libra. We also have Saturn moving to Libra reinforcing the symbolism of this sign.

Libra corresponds to diplomacy, fairness, equality, compromise, the legal system, Judges, economics, Sweet things (including Chocolate factories like Cadbury's - now Kraft). It includes fashion and glamour models and the beauty industry, agreements and arbitration. Themes like Me/You, Collaboration, Co operation( Co operative) and all words that evoke an us and them (or me and you theme) and joint schemes will be to the fore. Things do do with 'Confederation' could be prominent too. Watch out for that word e.g. Articles of Confederation, Confederation Cup, Confederation of businesses etc.

Getting back to the UK Election; as much as a coalition of two leaders, standing at dual podiums (and two leaders who also look like each other) could be said to correspond to the duality of Venus in Gemini, the wider correspondence is Libra, because Libra rules all alliances. Jupiter/Uranus cycles correlate to sudden surprises (including that of our new UK Government) but also can denote sudden upsets. Saturn in Libra can bring delays, or restructuring, or legal challenges from those mired in tradition.

Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg should not sit opposite the P.M., David Cameron at the Cabinet boardroom table as he did today. He should sit to his right if he wants to assume power, or to his left is he is willing to take a slightly subordinate position. After watching their body language on entry into Number 10, Clegg seems to already be in a power play and although I openly admit to voting for him, I feel he should curb his ambition to lead for a while or he runs a risk of alienating those he wants onside. He has definitely already felt the 'I can't believe my luck' aspect of the JU/UR conjunctions, which is one way they, rather notoriously, play out. He may also find himself unexpectedly standing in for the new Prime Minister. This will certainly happen upon the birth of Samantha Cameron's new baby.

In my April/May newsletter I said I feared that David Cameron may be worrying about his wife's pregnancy. Maybe what I was seeing in advance was the fact that Clegg may be too good a stand-in, so Cameron's planned paternity leave and absences must already be worrying David Cameron and his party!

Michael Munkasey, a well known astrologer writes of Jupiter/Uranus conjunctions in his book that this aspect correlates to 'Civil war due to a legal or religious system which stifles justice for common people". This applies globally at this time - and through to 2012. There are hot spots around the world where civil unrest is brewing to boiling point. These will all be off and on but, like the Volcanoes in Iceland, could suddenly explode under the build up of pressure. (Watch for run ups to Full Moons in this regard. Next one 27 May 2010).

Full Moons bring eruptions, but also endings and with the reversal of Neptune at the end of May latest I would expect the oil should finally be capped off (totally) in the Gulf but the recriminations will then begin in earnest. I'm still wondering if we have heard the full story about what happened there with so much Neptune obfuscating the truth.

You can read more about what the JU/UR conjunction relates to from this article, which I wrote in 2006. I also suggest you look at the Wiki page for 1997 to get an idea of what is ending, what is beginning and what may need revisiting.

One aspect that I haven't touched on lately is the JU/SA (Jupiter/Saturn) - 180-. These cycles strongly correlate to expansion and contraction. They also denote huge responsibility and are thus prevalent in charts of leaders, Presidents, PM's, CEO's and those who rise to positions of great influence. (The Royal Family 'respond' to this cycle too). Leaders and those mentioned can arrive and leave on these aspects. For the Stockmarkets, it is further indication of a 'way up' one day, 'way down' the next uncertainty. For the building trade and house market (which correlate strongly to this cycle) it is a turning point. Unfortunately, due to retrograde motion, this is the first of 3 oppositions of the same aspect not ending until the end of March 2011, so corrections will be made now and schemes implemented to lift the House markets out of the doldrums but they won't even begin to show signs of significant change until the final turning point in mid 2011 ( and by then we will be dealing with other issues). Only slow, steady, sensible moves could result in gains. The transformation in the use of big buildings could occur ( JU/UR/SA/PL) i.e turning offices to flats etc.

The chart of the NYSE has just seen Neptune move to an important position. Neptune correlates to fraud, uncertainty, viruses and pharmaceutical, train, gas and oil companies. Big fluctuations in the fortunes of the latter stocks are indicated by the move of Neptune ( seen here in the 10th). This move is long term

Traders need to get an ephemeris and watch the movement of Mars and the Moon around this chart. On 6th May 2010 Mars was precisely conjoining Uranus the planet strongly associated with shocks and computers. Mercury was also RX. A huge trading glitch saw stocks plummet in price and many of those stocks were 'of the nature' of Neptune which has just moved to the 10th. Saturn is hovering and moving in and out of the 5th and will be opposed by Jupiter on 23rd May.

So, the next key dates to watch for significant movements on the global Markets are 22/23/24/25th May and first week of June (1st-3rd June particularly) but the entire months of June/July/August are volatile.

More immediately on Earth, in general, from now to 17th/18th May watch for major events involving Police and natural events (earth shifts) as Heliocentric Saturn opposes Uranus just as Mercury and Pluto align and Saturn and Mars align. These often coincide with Earthquakes or situations with people that lead to a release of tension after much frustration.

We are in midst of significant change and it all sounds bad when listed like this but it has an ultimate purpose, longterm. Trust that.

UNPRECEDENTED TIMES - Turmoil ahead

UPDATE: Since writing this, the fast moving events moved from the possibility of a Lib/Lab coalition or of a Minority Conservative led Government and we have a Con/Lib Dem coalition (some are dubbing it ConDemNation!). Unless the eclipse of Venus by the Moon, (on Sunday 16th) brings a bombshell, the new team seem to have sewn together an unbelievable (very Ju/Ur) deal together; one that brings monumental, historic and welcome change to the Politics of Westminster and could avert the worst of what I feared when writing this! The economic situation is still perilous and there will be protests from those who don't like this compromise but Clegg and Cameron appear to be two very 'awakened' people and they are offering the United Kingdom some form of hope! Hurrah

It is said that if you want popularity you should never openly discuss your religious or political viewpoints in public; well I have never sought popularity, what I seek is truth, justice and fairness. I have a voice and I am going to speak up.

When the United Kingdom was asked to visit the polls, those who turned up and cast their vote have every right to feel confident that their vote counted. Those who didn’t (35%) have no right. Barring illness or extenuating circumstances, if they couldn’t be bothered to vote they should now keep quiet.

The final vote for the 3 main parties from 65.1% of the population was:

Conservative: 10,683,787
Labour: 8,604,358
Liberals: 6,827,938

That is approximately 2 million votes separating Lib and Lab and Lab and Conservative.

How can anyone think it is fair, based on these figures, that the Liberals deserve to have only 57 seats in Parliament, as compared to the 305 of the Conservatives and 258 of Labour? It may have worked (with recent difficulty in this decade) for centuries but the world has moved on.

I believe there is a fair way to solve this deadlock and abandon this antiquated system.

It is this:

The Electoral Commission have a list of every person who did turn out and those people (and those people only*) should now be subjected to another poll as to who they want to run the country – Labour or Conservative. (Leave Labour in charge in the interim). The side with most votes must then form a minority Government and bring about an immediate referendum of the entire voting public on voting reform and also commit now to a new Election within 4-6 months of the result to put those reforms into place. This will eventually allow the Liberals proper representation in the House and those who didn’t vote this time around to come out and make a difference. It will also ensure we end up with a Prime Minister elected by the people and not by default.

Call it utopian if you must but to me it makes sense.

At the moment there is a huge swathe of the public who get the bulk of their information about politics solely from their daily newspaper or a politically biased news station. NEVER have we had such biased reporting as in this election. We also need some type of reform of the Media during elections.

Many voters simply do not understand why the Liberals have become Kingmakers when they look at the pretty red, yellow and blue seat graphics in the papers and on TV and see a mass of red and blue but hardly any yellow. They should show actual votes more often. Let's see a Red. Yellow and Blue chart of the votes.

These readers/viewers I speak of, many of them who never even went to vote, are fed up with the state of the economy and the frightened by the rapidly changing world they now live in and frustrated at the rich/poor divide that still seems to exist. They believe the Liberals to have gained hardly any votes. They are being incited to anger, whipped up by the media bias and spin from the parties themsleves. All their frustrations will be taken out on the new Government unless they feel it has been fairly elected. We can expect protest marches, strikes - the lot.

Turmoil in this country will affect the markets, further endanger currencies and lead to civil unrest. We have to use social media to spread the truth of the relative closeness of the result by votes and not by seats and force another election as quickly as possible.

I concede that the Conservatives won the popular vote by 36% but, proportionally it is too close ( 36% 29% 23%) to allow them to form a Government unless it is accompanied by a definite date for a new election.

We have to see the marvel of the notion of Democracy on this Earth and uphold it. We need to look at what we are faced with and deal with it fairly with respect for all the parties.

Can We Call the Timing of What Happens Next?

Once again I am keen to put astrology to the test. This is how we gauge when things are going to happen. The slightly trickier bit is being accurate about what happens at these times, but for this we use symbolism of the planets, signs and houses. So. let me walk you through it. Here's what we (or I) do when analysing situations of uncertainty like this one the country faces now.

1st Chart (click to enlarge): The polls for the election opened at 7am on 6th May 2010. I have set the chart for the correct time but I use a Sun on the 1st chart to make it all clearer for you. Notice the Moon at the top and watch it move around, anticlockwise, in the following charts. The Moon tracks the Nations concerns and the 'way things are going' it can also symbolise the most prominent candidate.....



2nd Chart:Next the Moon makes a conjunction to Neptune. Moon with Neptune denotes, and did indeed denote, public confusion and disappointment at the non result. This conjunction occurred just as the last returns were coming in
The Moon then goes VOC ( i.e. symbolically into uncharted territory) and this happened as a Hung Parliament was officially confirmed at 09.41am on 7 May 2010. The first since 1974 (and I called this accurately in my April 16th Tweet!)

3rd Chart: The Moon then leaves its VOC status and entered Pisces where it immediately met Chiron
(hurt, pain and 'building bridges'). At this point Nick Clegg swept into Party Headquarters and emerged to say he would, out of politeness (and in my opinion clever political chess playing) meet with Cameron and the Tories first. ( Astrologers please note that the time used here may be a minute or two out but makes no difference to where the Moon was). Symbolically then Clegg is mirroring the movement of the Moon in these charts.


Brown has to walk back into Number 10 as a Lame Duck leader and he does it just as .....

Chart 4: just as the Moon meets his Sun, a personal New Moon for him. Maybe Clegg called him too around then? Whatever, Gordon knew it was all over for him as a Leader and the chart confirms a 'New Start' but one marked with pain (Chiron again) as he knows he has to remain in power until a deal is thrashed out by the parties.

We then watch the Moon as it moves to the Jupiter Uranus conjunction opposite Saturn See chart 5. All day the leaders have been meeting. They left talks at 17.40. 9 May 2010 and note that at that time the Moon was, highly symbolically positioned between Jupiter and Uranus. Clegg still has two options! Mercury is still Retrograde, so negotiations will continue and other options may be revisited. If they reach an agreement before 11 May we should worry as it may unravel.


When the Moon passes Mercury at 3 degrees.50 Taurus, the degree it was placed at for the start of the election, I would expect to hear an important announcement/statement (probably from Clegg) but not before. There may well be other statements beforehand but this one will be important as Mercury will now be stationing direct i.e. about to move slowly forward. This juncture of Moon and Mercury is reached in the afternoon of Wednesday, 12 May


Then when the Moon moves over 15 Taurus on Thursday 13th May by lunchtime we should have some definitive deal and detail announced. It may be slightly later but not before the Moon reaches 15 Taurus.


This will be in time for the New Moon on Friday which straddles the natal Mars of The House of Commons ( 20 Jan 1265) and squares the progressed Sun of that chart.

Gordon Brown will definitely leave. I think Cancerian David Miliband will replace him as the upcoming move of Uranus into Aries impacts his chart. I would think Gordon will announce his intention to no longer lead the Labour Party by the end of this week ! I think he was a poor, misunderstood soul and, as a Piscean, far more evolved than anyone quite realised but this year the time has come for his life to change. This is borne out by a few progressed planets and points moving signs in his chart.

As always let's see what happens. 'It ain't over till the fat lady sings' as they say and although a Tory leader is looking likely we are in 'unprecedented' times and that means twists and turns and the Lib Dems would surely be better bedfellows with Labour if they can gather a majority. Moon in Taurus could suggest the intervention of the Taurean Queen but, unless another candidate, maybe female or Libra or Taurus emerges, it points to the Venusian Cameron.

Venus is occulted by the Moon on Monday 16th. An occultation is like an eclipse. If Clegg is the Moon in this chart then in any alliance, just Like Princess Di and Charles, Cameron will have to take a back seat to the charismatic Clegg. If the Moon is seen as denoting the public ( which it does) then a Cameron/Clegg alliance may not sit too well with the people who voted. Then again Venus can also signify the Queen so maybe she will have to step in! Oh dear now I have put too many options. The timing though is what we will watch for from this post.

21.07 - 9 May 2010

Update 10.44 10th May. Re the Moon in Taurus mention, I just realised Harriet Harman is Deputy Leader of the Labour party, so she would also represent Venus. When Brown goes she steps in until a new leader is formally appointed. So this to my mind confirms Brown will go this week.
Update 15.38 12th May
This experiment with a 'Start of the election' chart appears to have worked. A quick recap. Voting began, then when the Moon moved to Neptune there was confusion, when it moved VOC there was a sense of being in uncharted territory as we had a Hung Parliament. When it entered Pisces (which incidentally is the sign most associated with complete confusion, spin and rumour) Nick Clegg broke the silence and made the first speech and Gordon Brown went back into Number 10. When the Moon reached the JU/UR conjunction Clegg was first in talks with Conservatives and then, as it moved towards Uranus, Clegg and his team surprised everyone, and entered into serious talks with Labour and then quickly and unexpectedly walked away from that and went for the Con/Lib agreement. When the Moon reached the chart Mercury in the afternoon of the 12th May, Cameron and Clegg laid out their plans of their coalition in their first joint Press Conference.

In amongst all this Gordon did indeed step down as Leader of the Labour Party and then, subsequently, as Prime Minister - Chiron on his Sun was well and truly present in an emotional farewell speech. Harriet Harman is Deputy Interim Party leader and David Miliband is front runner to be the new Labour party leader.

This chart by itself did not indicate who would become Leader but it did show timing of some key moments. Using further symbolism, such as Venus being in Gemini was what made it possible for me (and other astrologers) to know way in advance of the polls that the result would definitely be some kind of coalition. The opposition of Saturn to Uranus indicated it would be a very close call and bring major change, just as it did when Barack Obama was voted in under the same aspect. No one quite believed that change of this magnitude could come to the UK as Conservatives and Liberals have been so far apart but here it is and so far, it sounds like they intend to try and deliver the change we need. With the Sun in Taurus, the focus will be mainly on finances (and Taurus ruled things) for the entire term and on issues connected to the opposite sign of Scorpio.

This chart is the one for the beleaguered Secretary of the Treasury, Timothy Geithner.



Meanwhile, on first viewing, Ben Bernanke's chart seems to escape any direct hits until you look at his progressions and midpoints.

Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Fed, has his progressed Moon and Mars due to change signs but the approaching cardinal axis transits align to his SATURN/PLUTO and VENUS/URANUS midpoints and these will be directly affected this year (especially June and August and April 2011).
His birthdata is 13 Dec 1953, Augusta, Ga. Roughly translated and best case these midpoints mean SURVIVAL thru RADICAL FINANCIAL CHANGE.

Nothing less than sweeping reforms is going to save the dollar from collapse now. Some think it's gone beyond the point of any return. Personally, I think, despite some really scary moments, the dollar may look as though it's just holding its head above water through some lucky interventions and decisions in 2010 but in early 2011 the real changes and problems take hold thru to 2014. We all need to be prepared and informed as the whole currency crisis is global and will take almost all this time (to 2014) to navigate.

B) Washington is now doing more to deliberately devalue the dollar more than at any other time in our country’s history.

So what do you do with your cash? Do you keep most of it in CDs, money market funds, notes or bonds, Treasury bills?

My answer: No way because whether it’s in money markets, bonds, or hidden under your mattress — cash dollars are quickly becoming trash.

My rule of thumb: KEEP NO MORE THAN SIX MONTHS WORTH OF LIVING EXPENSES IN CASH. To pay bills, to pay for basic services, for emergencies. (And the more cash you can keep in NON-U.S. dollar accounts, the better. More on this aspect in a moment.)

I repeat: Not a penny more than six months worth of cash. That way, you’re automatically reducing the damage that can be caused to the purchasing power of your money as the U.S. dollar falls — because, plainly and simply, you’re keeping a minor fraction of your money in the dollar!
